I've discussed teaching a course with a few people, who told me to go for it, but first I want to see how much of an interest there is in this since my life is very chaotic and in a horrible upheaval at the moment (though the class would help take my mind off of it), so I'll be forced to take time from some things in order to do it. If there's a strong interest in it, I just may (unless things get more hectic). I recently read on one of the threads that course material requirements will be changing, needing to be taken strictly from the teacher, which is where I had planned to teach directly from-my mind and my own personal grimoire. However, this won't be a traditional candle course like most books on the topic today as I find most of that material to be dive-into-the-deep-end-before-you-can-swim nonsense and really not very practical.
Keep in mind, however, I have no lesson plans or syllabus worked out yet, so even if I do it may take a few weeks for me to get organized enough to begin the class. Please keep that time in mind when voting.
Feel free to ask any questions, but this is only in the very early stages of being considered and I may not yet have an answer for you.

Sounds good. Since most of my spells end up boiling down to candle magick and I make up as I go. I could use some direction.

I've been wanting to learn about candle magic. I know absolutely nothing, so if it's going to start from the basics I'd be interested. I wouldn't be able to participate until September.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Although, I'm not sure if there's anything new to be taught about candle magic. Do you have some original techniques that could seperate your teaching from all the instructions in various magic books?
A good book (being the only book specific to candle magic I have) is The Candle Magick Workbook by Kala and Ketz Pajeon, in my opinion. It covers a lot of stuff that's not exactly candle magic, but ties nicely with it.
All in all, the class sounds like an interesting idea, if there's something new we could learn.

I would be interested in this calss, but what exactly would it involve because candles are pretty basic in my eyes, but I suppose it will be on focusing and things like smudging.
Anyways I would love to join your class, just let us know when you are ready.

Is there something 'new' for any of you to learn? Beats me as I have no idea what you all know, which would be required for me to be able to inform you if there are new ideas, approaches, and beliefs that I will be teaching for you to learn. Telling me everything any of you know would be lengthy and exhausting, so before anyone tries let's not venture there just yet.
As for there not being anything new to learn in regards to candle magic, there is always something new to learn about anything, for we can never truly know something wholely and absolutely.

It will begin with the basics as I view them, from what candle magic encompasses in terms of elemental energies, to color correspondences as I view and use them, to methods of lightning and putting out candles, to hopefully toward the end more advanced techniques such as inscribing candles, methods of annointing (beyond the typical one you usually read about, I'm sure you are all familiar with it), and so forth... but this is all very much theoretical at the moment since I have no concrete plans as of yet.

I have confidnece in you Raven, that you will most definitely teach "beyond the basics." I do a lot of candle spells myself, but I have this feeling you will share many things that I don't know or hadn't thought about.
Go for it!

Hello, Please forgive me if I am putting this in the wrong place, because I found this through a link on this site, but I would love to join your class if you do indeed decide to teach one. I love candles period! and all of my magic will probably have a candle in it :D so I think I'm a pretty good candidate for a student! (self promotion, can you tell?) Take care Raven Greywind.

A little bit of an update on the class:
Not going to happen any time soon. My life has simply reached utter chaos and I can barely get online for more than a few minutes every couple of days, let alone begin an online course. My apologies, and trust me, I'd rather teach the class than be having to deal with this mess.

Things are smoothing out for me a bit right now, but I am looking into starting my own website (which will be a vast and major undertaking). There is a 98% probability that I will get it, and while it will be a personal website, my craft is such a large part of my life that I plan on teaching through it, whether through essays, tutorials, and publishing my own grimoire online (information only, no spells, rituals, or recipes).
But that may be a month or two before it's up, I'm unsure. So, no class here I'm afraid, but if anyone wishes to teach one in my place as I know many of you have expressed an interest in collaborating or taking it on until I can dedicate myself to it, by all means feel free.
Oh and Faewyn, I'm a 'he' by the way. ;)
