You know what? My Sister uses the same thing for my Neice's altar. Barbie dolls are non-breakable and they work very well. She uses Barbie to symbolize the Goddess and of course, Ken to symbolize the God.

It's definitely not a bad idea. Intent is the important thing.

I usually draw my own pictures, but I do have a weird representation of The God that I made. I took a glass snapple bottle, covered it in stripped pieces of tape that look like a kind of leather covering when in its finished, then stuck two twigs on the head of the bottle that look like antlers, and drew a stag head on the front as a representation of The God. The coolest part though, is that before I taped over the bottle, I filled it with beads so that it makes a jingley noise when you shake it.
I know it sounds bizzare, but it actually looks really neat.

I have the Tinkerbelle barbie on my Faery altar. I love her!

Ya know, if one collected Barbies of the world, one could have a global altar. They have dolls from all over the world, dressed in traditional clothing. Ohhhh, I think I'll start with a Greek one.

I love these ideas! I use crystals, though I don't know if this is all that unique.

I've collected pictures, but I have yet to print them out (I only have access to a black and white printer at home - have to use the colour printer at TAFE) and attain photo frames for them. I used to have a silver and gold candle, on my altar, representing the goddess and the god, but in all my hype over setting up my altar for different sabbats, those candles were taken off.
I really have to sit down and set up my altar properly, which means more candle holders and so forth.

There is a shop down in Temecula that has this Gaia statue fully colored... Its the replication of the Millennium Gaia. Beautiful. I would have bought it but she was $67.

I have a picture of Athena that Michie made for me in the craft exchange here behind my altar on the wall... :D I don't really have anything for the God yet, since I don't have a Patron God calling to me at the moment. But I have a gold candle for him on the altar, and a silver one for the Goddess. :)

i've got three statues of Aset (isis), two of her suckling Heru-sa-aset, the other is of her winged, but one of the wings broke. I have a beautiful statue of Sobek-Re, which i bought for $60 at a market stall in Subiaco. Mum was with me when i bought Him, and she kinda thought i'd wasted my money, but he was so lovely, i had to have him. My mum can't see the beauty i see in crocodiles.... I haven't got a statue of Djehuti, though i'd love one. I use a picture of him i found in a book. it's framed and everything, with a cloth cover with an ibis painted on it as a cover. I have a couple of cat statues, one of which is called Faithful after a cat character in the 'lioness rampant' series by tamora pearce (sp?)I have candles too, one for Aset (silver), Djehuti (silver), Sobek-Re (it's cream cos i couldn't get gold)and Bast (red and silver).
