I need to know any and all governmental agencies that help impoverished people.

I live in south-eastern Indiana, if that helps.

Thank you.

That, and I'm not an organisation.

I couldn't find anywhere on there that listed anything but community-based or religious-based organisations.

I can't apply for temporary assistance for needy families because I'm not pregnant.

I can't apply for Indiana Hoosiers Healthwise because I'm 22 (you have to be 19 and under).

I can probably apply for foodstamps, but food isn't the problem. I can get food from any one of my relatives, and hubby's relatives.

I could -possibly- apply for Indiana Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program ... but I'll have to see. Luckily, there's an office for that right in my hometown.

And, of course, I'm off to apply to Burger King tomorrow.

Loki, I would bet the Burger King thing will come before the others... agencies are tough

Tough or not, I'm being f****** sued by the f****** hospital for $4600 in unpaid medical bills.

I think I can stomach the wait.

That is cute... wll.. they will have to wait... they have more $$ than you... can you work a payment schedule???

We're going to look into something tomorrow that might get those bills as a write-off. Aka. the government will pay them and we won't have to. But that's only if we meet the tax requirement. If we made little enough last year, then they'll do it.

Watch ... we'll have made JUST enough knowing my luck.

I've since given up hope. I'm riding the s*** river to see where it takes me.

Hang in there... I am sorry, but words do not pay big bills....

Unfortunately, they don't, but it helps my peace of mind. What there is of it.

I don't even weigh enough to sell blood.

That's where I went to find out all the things I'm not eligible for. :/

Okay, Loki...the FIRST thing you do is contact all the credit bureaus -- make a statement to all that this is a Medical Bill in Dispute. That way no future creditors can use the info to deny you employment, housing... and other important things. I used to work for a credit reporting agency. I know it is true.

We're going tomorrow to the hospital to see about doing Charity Care. And pay them a sum per month.

I don't know if we can do the energy assistance program because we don't need the heater until the cold weather, but without the heater, there's no hot water. Our gas controls both heating and hot water.
