I wouldn't necesarily say that I am walking between paths, but rather, I am contemplating on actually taking up the path.

In a way, I don't mind because I am very open and I know that things happen for a specific reason that we must learn from each experience. And the paths we take depends on the path in which we would learn.

As for my current situation, I'm looking into a sort of Paganism. Currently, I am a Spiritualist. I guess you can say I pick up whatever the universe urges me to pick up along my spiritual path so that I may grow. This time, I'm wondering if the universe is asking that I join a pagan path so that I may grow in spirit. But then, before making this decision, I want to know what types of things will I be learning on this path and is it something I'm ready for and how long would I be on this path? Because knowing me, I am the type that likes to stick to somethingif I make a commitment, I want to stick wit it for a long time.

So this is where I hope that MysticWicks can help me out. :) From those who have had experience with the path, what do you think is best for me? I mean, I know that from within, I can find what is best for me if I just listen to Spirit within. But I just want a second opinion.

I'm not sure if it is because most of my friends are on the pagan path (some of them are Asatru, some Druid and others Wiccan) or if I am aware that my town has enough pagan population to hold at least two full covens (of 13, or whatever "full" means). A small tight knit circle of friends I have... we are all of the different elements and we work well together.

So can someone help me? I want to, but then I don't. Perhaps staying away from the group thing would be better, but I have always loved group effort and group atmosphere and I feel deep within that that type of atmosphere is what I need to keep going...

If you don't mind, explain what you mean by "the path" a bit more. To me, you're already ON a Path, a path of Spiritualism, as you put it. It's pretty common to broaden, or change your Path as you grow.

For myself, I started out Wiccan because that was what the my first Pagan friends were. It didn't take long for me to realize I needed to be doing something different though. I kept some of the beliefs I held as Truths from Wicca and forged my own Path, which to this day defies a name. For 10 years my Path was pretty much the same until I had an awakening and realized I needed a bit more than what I had. So, now I'm starting to feel my way around a new Path. It's not really different from my old one, but it needs to be more complete for me.

Are you being drawn to one specific, established Pagan Path, or are you just being drawn to Paganism in general? If it's Paganism in general, you'll probably find that Path becoming more defined as you learn more and more about all the diverse Paths that fall under the Pagan umbrella.

Well, I don't want to point to any specific pagan path and I've seen many pagan paths being refered to as The Path (but of course, I could have misunderstood as well).

I'm not sure which pagan path because I'm still learning and continuing with my theological and spiritual studies, but I feel it will come to me. :) Thanks for your response. :)

My only advice to to experiment! Go with your intuition... open up to the universe and ask it to guide you... The path will find you if you let it. Don't allow yourself to be influenced by your friends and their paths... if you find one of their traditions appeals, by all means let them show you more about it, just don't make your decision based on what your friends are doing :)

And Selene... I sympatise... I too defy definition! I'm some sort of witch... Just no idea what kind!

Oh, I'm totally not like that. I've been studying these things for years and the Pagan Paths have always intrigued me. But I guess the universe is probably telling me to go right ahead. "You have the Pagans right here in front of you. You do your religious and spiritual studies all the time and so do they. You've always wanted a group with a similar spirituality as you and they do. You want to learn of the Earth and the beauties of nature and they are learning to experience that as well. Why not?"

I don't know... I have plenty to think about. I don't know what's stopping me. I've never been afriad of the Pagan Paths or those on it, so it must be the commitment. I mean, I try whenever I can to go to their celebrations and religious parties. (I've done that with many religions). And they seem to be free spirits which I am.

I'll know what to do now. Thanks. :)

What may be confusing you is that many people, myself included, refer to their own path as the Path because it's OUR true Path. But, what I call the Path, is NOT everyone's Path, and there is no right or wrong in which path you chose. Good luck to you! May you find all that you Seek. :)

Each road is its own road, dear. The road you take will be yours. No more right or wrong than mine. But, equally important to you as mine is to me. I follow a different one than many here, yet I am at home here..for MW is a good place. I would say follow your heart, look around, ask questions, and soon..you will know how you feel. I wish you great success on the wings of eagles..
