how do YOU organise yours?

i have a book for everything, basically. one for the cycle of the year (with esbats and sabbats), one for info about my deities and pantheon, one for herbs... one for essentially everything.

I just add things as they come. I like it like that :)

I have a 'Binder of Shadows' :D With file dividers and the works! ;) I have everything organised (one of the few areas of my life that actually is) and neatly decorated. I is proud of my BOS! ^_^

haha, I'm not an organised person at all so it suits me for everything in my BOS to be here and there. I know my book so well that i don't need to organise it, I know where everthing is *shrugs*

Nah, I only got it about a week ago... For the past few years I used a small hardback book (black of course) in which I handwrote all my spells and rituals. Very witchie. Only problem... I could never find anything, I couldn't read my writing and I ran out of space... I also made so many mistakes! Now everything in my binder is typed (with a really cool font) and organised. I'm slowly typing everything from my original BOS and putting it into the binder. I've also decorated the front of the binder with a silver pentagram collage and some purple crepe paper that I've arranged to look like a wax seal on the outside :D

I use a ring binder. i have cut out from magazines and any info from the net in one section, spells in another. Sabbats and esbats are put together as well as any other info I can get my hands on.

I need more ideas for decorating my binder though... :hmmmmm: Any suggestions?

I don't know how well it'd work(if nothing else I guess you could glue or rubber cement it on) but what about wallpaper? Once I get my binder that I want to use, I'm planning on covering the entire thing in some celestial-ish dark blue wallpaper and then putting a really pretty border I have in the middle of it(golden and reddish, suns that turn to moons when the lighting is right). I think it'll turn out really well :) ...and I'd guess that for smaller bits you could just rubber cement/glue it on. There's some really pretty wallpaper out there! although it might be expensive if you don't already have it lying around the house... :eyez:

wallpaper is certainly a fabulous idea. posters also work, too - or you could make collage(s?) of any pictures or paintings that hold spiritual significance to you. ie, if someone did a painting of a deity you worship, find millions and make a collage :D kinda. calligraphy pens are great, and also just ribbons and material and that sort of deal.

oh, a digicam is a -very- useful tool ;)
and yeah, i can imagine if you're tired, it must be dreadfully late in ireland!

I have one notebook for spells, one for prayers, and one for rituals. For infomation about herb, and stones, and the like I just use books.

I'm gonna make a little correlations book, because I find it takes up too much room in the main BOS... I might cover that in wallpaper... but my binder has the pentagram collage on the front that took me three hours and I am loath to cover it up! No matter how nice the paper would be!

My "Book of Shadows" is a database on a computer, so in theory it organizes itself. I also have everything set up so I can access it from my cell phone (I have way too much free time :smile: ).

aww, yeah, that would be terrible to cover up the collage!

maybe you could make the collage your first page of the BoS (if you really want a wallpaper/paper covering for it), if it's not too difficult to remove it from the cover... hmm, i'm not sure. :)

I keep a notebook to write down ideas and stray thoughts that sort of pop into my head to keep track of them until I decide if they go into the Book of Shadows or not. I also have all of my rituals, prayers, and spells on a database on the computer. I'd love to find a program that would let me organize it someway other than just files in a folder in My Documents. I'd like to make a fabric cover for my binder but haven't found just the "right" stuff yet...I had tried one of the bound books, and didn't have much luck with it...too hard to organize, and I like to be able to "rip out the page" if I decide something just doesn't "work" for me on down the road....
