I was thinking about this for a few days, and I was wondering what everyone else here thought. In a lot of the books I've been paging through lately I notive a lot of them list "correspondances" for the Gods. Now, if you have a patron and/or matron god/dess would you call upon them for your every need, or is it only appropriate with something that is within thier sphere of influence?

i go to my three Gods with just about everything, really, cos i'm working with Them to etablish a close relationship with them. if i can't tell Them everything, how can i be close to Them? I thought that was the idea behind patrons, that you worked closely with Them and They teach you and guide you and stuff. I believe you should be open and honest with them. There should be nothing you can't tell your patron. just my opinion, though.

bright blessings,

As I am Christo-Pagan, I call on God for most major things. But I'll call upon Gaia for more earthly things.....like good weather when I need to do something outside, or to bless my flowers so they don't die....stuff like that.

I have seen some books with lists of correspondances. I think that the author's subjective opinion is thrown into the list a lot of the time, because I for the life of me can't find out how some of the deities and correspondances could possibly be related. For me, I mainly use my patron. I feel comfortable with her after all.

I call on my patron godess and god for everything. I never use other gods in my rituals or prayers.

While I have Patrons, I pray to every god in my pantheon, and request specific aid from Those who oversee that particular area. If I request aid from my Patrons and it is not in Their area (and I am not sure which god to ask), I ask that They work with or go through the proper god. For me to not do so would be disrespectful of Their purpose.
