I love the Fae, and I would like to know stuff that attracts them, stuff they like, ways to handle them and their mischief, etc. HELP!!!

It's pretty much what you would think. If a place looks like it would be inhabited by fairies, it is. If you don't have a garden, you can get a nice grouping of potted plants and what not. If you do have a garden, then go to a nice place in it, or make one. Help take care of the yard. Whatever you think looks or sounds fairy-friendly, probably is.

I always though honey, milk, and flowers were attractants for fairies, but I have never worked with them before. So I wouldn't actually know.

Hmm, where to start? :D

The best way to attract faeries is to build up an empowered environment for them (my bedroom, in this case, but you can have a garden or another room of the house). Raise energy there, dance, perform rituals, e.t.c. The energy will attract them. Having plants in this space is a huge bonus. It's also a good idea to set up a small area (a bedside table or the end of a shelf, for example) to place things the faeries would like on. Try gemstones, milk and honey, shiny objects (NOT iron), flowers, bread and/or feathers.

Most faeries are tricksters: just the other day one of them annoyed my dad by stealing his keys from the table while his back was turned. They reappeared in the wardrobe after a few minutes and some persuading. It helps to be able to laugh at yourself, and don't get angry when you find that they have taken something. Try bargaining with them: "here's a nice shiny thing, now can I have my stuff back?"

I reccommend the book Good Faeries/ Bad Faeries by Brian Froud. It's a collection of his faerie artwork, but it's really inspiring and it has some advice on how to deal with them. He also has a card set, the Faeries Oracle (it comes with a book in a boxed set), which is GREAT fun, and faeries love to join you in your card reading.

I'd say the best starting point for information on the Fae Folk, would be to do a google.com search and see what comes up. I have a fair amount of information from the internet about Faeries stored on my computer.

I have also done alot of research on fairies. I have a wondeful book on Fairies, It showes the picture of the fairy, tells the exact time of the sitings, What kind of climate that paticular fairy could be found in, What country, and what lured them to her for the wonderful picture she took. My Favorite story was of the Fairy "Eugenie" was her name.

Her common name is: Emerald Forest Fairy

Other name is: Elvine Wood Fairy Nymph

Sighting date was : July 12, 1998 at 2:10 pm

Sighting location was : Uxmal, Yucatan Penninsula, Mexico

Peak sighting season : Early June and Early July, Midday with the sun directly over head

Her History : Little is known of Eugenie, except that she is the Guardian of trees and that she changes color and markings to blend with her surroundings. She is also known as a mischief maker.

Her Lure was : pencils

Notes that the Author took : I found a clearing in the forest, where I set up my tripod and placed my journal on a tree stump to make notes. I walked off into the woods to take some pictures , and when I returned, My pencil was gone. So, I pulled out another pencil and wrote for a minute. When I turned my back I heard a noise . I whirled around. My pencil had vanished again! My heart began to pound. I pulled out another pencil and purposely turned around, pretending to retrieve something from my bag. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Eugenie speed by. Snatch up the pencil, and hide behind a tree. She laughed at me and sprinted away. When I returned to the clearing my notebook was gone.

If your intrested in seeing more and reading more from this author her book The Fairies By, Suza Scalora I highly recommend this book. She has said she will be coming out with a second addition to this book soon, she also has a website. do a search and read some very intresting things.

..just a stupid question I HAD to ask... :D
Are faeries small or does their size vary? I read a book which said that faeries are actually taller than humans usually, and have long, skinny limbs. Is this just a vision or if you've seen fae folk, how do they look like?

i guess it depends on what kind of fae. I imagine a pixie being small but a sidhe being a human size or a bit taller.

Well, weather permitting I leave a small plate of cookie, and fruit, and maybe a bit of brandy and some nice stones for the fairy folk out in the backyard. I have noticed that any time I put my stones and crystals out there to "moon bathe" ..well, a few go missing. Oddly enough, some of the missing stones have been turning up in "odd" places????? hmmmm.....still?

I'd say DONT attract them! Sorry, but faeries aren't all cute little tinkerbells, some of them are downright rotten.

To me the idea of actually wanting to attract faeries is akin to asking for ways to attract a population of rats. Do a bit of research before you decide that you want them hanging around your place :tongueout

Tinkerbell was kinda rotten too, if you recall in Peeter Pan she betrayed Peeter Pan to Hook.

But when you think about it, the same could be said for other humans, and we still risk interacting with them.

But you can tell a human being to hit the road if he misbehaves. Telling a fairy to get lost might be more difficult.

With a human, you've got persuasion and physical force. With a faerie, you've got persuasion and astral force. When the worst comes to the worst, getting rid of a faerie is as difficult as getting rid of a human, it just occurs on a different plane. It's not as if we're inferior.

ok good ideas and advice guys!!!! just wanted to throw something in here: my uncle's friend has a really big beatiful backyard and she took a pic of it to give to a friend and in the picture on the right edge was a faery or something very much like it that looked like it was trying to get out of the frame of the picture

Varies. Most of them are small. There are a host of beings that protect and inhabit nature. Not all of them are fairies. They vary in size.

Fairies are special beings. They are not "rats."

Just had to stick up for my rodent friends. Rats are actually quite clean creatures. Not to mention pretty darn smart.
I don't mind having the fairies and rats in my surroundings.

The point I'm trying to make is that it seems that many, many people only want to recognize the cute little faeries who are mischievous and who's antics only include such things as running off with someones keys. I think that's just about as dangerous as saying "I want to attract baby tigers because they're so mischievous!"

I gotta say that while perhaps 'some' of them are cute and 'mischievous' SOME of them are downright brutal. 'Bad' faeries are just as magical as 'Good' faeries and they are quite capable of masquerading as a harmless little critter when, in reality, they're off killing kittens and wreaking havoc.

Do you really want to take the chance that you'll end up attracting the 'kill your kitten' type faeries? I've personally had a crash course in getting rid of the 'not-so-good' brand of faerie and I can tell you that it's NOT as easy as saying 'Go away little faerie, I don't like your particular brand of mischievousness'

What I'm suggesting is that before you go and set out things to attract an entire breed of astral critter, that you take the time to do the research and see that there are OTHER things you may not WANT to attract.

I agree with your point and I can say I've had my fair share of bad experiences BUT I don't agree with not giving someone advice because there are a few rotters out there. When I encountered my first 'bad' faerie I wasn't even trying to attract any.

I'm not suggesting either that getting rid of the bad ones is as easy as telling them to shoo.

I just personally think that attracting faeries should not be guarded knowledge and it's their risk to take. When I step out the door in the morning to go to school, I'm taking a similar risk. Who would go as far as to live as a hermit just to avoid the possibility of crime?

Is "research" such a horrible word?

You wouldn't step out your door at 3am in the Lower East Side in a tarzan outfit, because you've probably done a little bit of cursory exploring of the idea to know it'll get you in trouble. That you WOULDN'T do it doesn't mean you're "living as a hermit". Jesus.

Did you have a bad experience? Not all faeries are ROTTEN, just like not all entities are ROTTEN.

Attracting faeries can be benificial they can add the raw elements to your circle and are very powerful in helping with spells. If the right ones are attracted they can even be protective of you and your home. Please do lots of research so that you can form an informative oppinion working with the fae can be the same as with working with any entities.
