Unfortunately, they are not the same. That would pretty much defeat the purpose of the verification method. **Soft smile** Can you access your bank account online and over the phone? The deposit amounts are under $1 in any event, so you should be able to use that to find them.

In the future, I would suggest getting the PP debit card. It makes getting your money uber easy, and if you have auctions running at the time, you get 1.5% cash-back on the card! :)

Hi

Funny you should ask this question, i had to setup a direct debit with paypal so that i can transfer money from paypal to my bank account in the UK, they sent 2 small deposits to my account of £0.33 and £0.32, which i then had to enter into paypal to verify my bank account with them. But don't take my word for it, check your bank account statement first as they might do it differently for everybody.

I'm pretty sure the amounts are random and won't be the same for everyone. That would also defeat the purpose of verification :D. If you don't have online banking...did you call your bank?

You get 1.5% cash back anytime you use the card. But you can only use the card if you have funds in PayPal. You don't have to have an auction going.

Yeah, it's different for every person. I've got two accounts verified on paypal and it was different for each account. As long as you've got a verified credit card and a verified bank account, you can get the debit card, which I love!

I had to reopen a PayPal account after 5 years of having one. Somehow, some site that sells magazines got my PayPal debit card number. I fought 2 yeras with them charging my accout without my permission. They would credit my account, but I was tired of the fight. So I closed my account and opened another. I juut pasted my 60 day mark to get the debit card. But I had one on my past account and loved it!!! I didn't know you could have 2 PayPal accounts. My hubby wants to have a seperate account for the money I'm making thru Amazon, instead of putting it in our bank account.

I had the WORST experience with PayPal and my business. Some woman complained that she didn't receive her refund fast enough for an online workshop she ordered (within the same week of her request for a refund, and our Terms of Service allowed for 30 DAYS, although we never took that long to process them), and PayPal suspended my account to investigate. I could not send funds, receive funds, withdraw funds, or close my account. They kept my money and held it for 180 days, and would NOT respond to my email or requests for assistance, even though I'd completed the things they gave me on a checklist of "things to do to get your account reinstated." (The same day as the account was seized!) Because I couldn't find another credit card processor and get set up in such a short amount of time, and because I was so frustrated and distraught, I shut my site down and sold it. ALL because of PayPal.

There's a class action lawsuit against PayPal, now. Anyone who opened an account between a certain time period and either had funds stolen from their account or any sort of fraud or account seizure is eligible for money. It's just $50 if you complete the short form, but if you complete the long form you can recover the full amount of any damages you can prove.

Actually anyone at all, whether they received actual damages or not, that opened a PayPal account in that time period (it's before January of this year) is eligible. However if you didn't suffer anything bad from their actions it will be a minimal amount of money that you get, probably like $2...
