I need help finding a Celtic deity, that deals with helping sick animals. My rat Del, isn't doing so well, and it looks like she may not be with me for much longer.
Is Brigit, the right Goddess to call on, because for some reason this morning, when I was thinking about this, her name sprung to mind, now I don't know whether its because I've had this particular deity on my mind of late or whether its a sort of message or something.
Any help is much appreciated.

Brigit would be great.
She is a Goddess for healing (amongst other things).

Thanks. I did a little research on her, and found she is associated with healing, and animals (I think, from memory)
I think, I'll work with her, and see what happens.
Thankfully though, Del is still with me, I was worried about her all day, whilst I was at TAFE (could explain my lack of enthusiam for learning about Access Databases  )
Anyway, thanks.

I hope Del gets better, my Nicodemus died one night with absolutely no warning. It was one of the hardest things to move past for me(I've truthfully had a relatively tragedy free life), I had a very special connection with him...anyway off the subject, I'm glad you've found a deity to work with and I hope all turns out well.:hugz:

Thanks, she's doing a little better than she was this morning. But I still want to try a spell. Which I'm currently working on.

I'd go with Brigit too. I hope your rat continues to get better :)

You could also try Cernunnos, the Celtic god of animals..

How about trying the god or goddess you talk to most often? You're bound to be more effective when speaking with Someone you know and work with regularly than Someone you don't.

So far the only possitive connection I've made with a deity is The Morrigan, and I don't really think that she is suitable for this kind of work ...

Since you've already connected with Morrigan, you might ask her for and intro to her husband.

Diancecht: God of medicine; he once saved Ireland; married
to Morrigan; among their children are Etan, who marries
Ogma, and Cian, who marries Ethniu, daughter of Balor, the
Fomor.

I find it wrong that someone would go to a deity only in their times of need

thok_ragnarok,
I don't do spells very often, for the simple reason that most of the time, I find that there is a non magical solution that will fix the problem. Unfortunately, in the instance of my pet Rat, Del's health, doing a spell is my last resort. I have tried everything. The vet recommends (yes she's seen a vet) Vitamin K ... but every place we've tried to locate it around here, is out of stock. I don't know what else to do. Over the last month, I've poured all my energies into caring for her, and virtually just being thankful, I've had her with me that extra day. It's to the point now, where I only take one day at a time, if she's alive when I wake up, I'm over the moon. I don't know how she's hanging on, as she is literally skin and bone, no matter what I give her to eat, and ofcourse water is always available. All I can think is, that she is supposed to be with me at this time in my life, in this lifetime. I wish I could get inside her little head. I really wish I understood her better, because then I would be better equipt to know what she's needing right now. I only hope she understands that I am trying, and I'm doing all I can, to see that she gets better.

And I'm sorry, but I thought spellwork was something not to be taken lightly, and only to be done, if there was no mundane alternative. I believe my reasoning is just, and if not, then I apologise, but I will not change my intent.

Blessings,
RubyRose

I find it wrong that someone would go to a deity only in their times of need Thats just a cruel thing to say when someone is grasping for hope! The title says desperate. Compassion for some, I guess, just doesnt exsist.

I cant believe how insulting you can be at times.

Thats my opinion.

Ruby I hope you know what a loving, devoted mom you have been. Del couldnt have it any better than with you. I am humbled by your love for Del. Trying our best is all we can do and if spellwork has a chance to help, which sometimes it can if it is meant to be, than it perfectly ok to try. Ignor those that try to belittle you. Your heart is true and that is known.

Aww, Thank you. At least somebody knows my heart is in the right place, but then Shanti, you've been with me from day one, some people should just read the back story, or find out more before they make accusations.
Okay enough anger and annoyance. I'm gunna carry out my spell tomorrow night. I just hope, that the spell does work, but if it doesn't, then yes, I do believe it was meant to be, but I shall see I suppose, the results in the coming weeks, after tomorrow.
It's also a full moon, so I'm hoping that will help also.

the best of luck with the rat...my point was that one should stick with what/who they know.

its along the same line as christians who only pray when they want something

this isn't political in nature...I gave my opinion, I gave a warning that it may be offensive, you still read it...from there it isn't my problem.

Here's some helpful information about natural sources of vitamin K.

Vitamin K: Vitamin K plays an important function in blood clotting, maintaining healthy bones as well as aiding in the healing of fractures. Sources are leafy green vegetables, fruits, beets, potatoes, eggs, seeds, dairy products, meats, and is also made by bacteria in stomach. Other places to get it are: spinach, broccoli, cabbage and turnip greens, soybeans, cereals, liver, cheese, cauliflower and Brussel's sprouts. (Getting it from natural sources lessens the chance of it being toxic to Del. If a tablet form *is* used, it must be accompanied by a meal, otherwise it will be sure to make her puke.)

In addition to that, I've been keeping the poor little dear in my prayers ever since you first posted she was ill. I'll keep on praying.

Bridget would good, and also perhaps Airmid, as she is assciated with healing. However, if you have a pretty good bond with the Morrigan, she may be willing to help you. She is assciated with death, yes? You could ask her to please keep Del in this world.

I was actually just reading an article about blood healing spells, where you shed a small bit of blood, and say something like,

"May this be the only blood spilled, the only injury made"

You could do that as part of an offering to the Morrigan, or even use cloth to soak it up and put it like a charm in Dels cage.

I wish you and Del best of health!
