View Full Version : Spotting faeries

Ok, I'm not the type that says seeing is believing b/c I believe in spirit guides and angels. But faeries...and the thing that frustrates me is that, I can believe in the angels, but not faeries. Maybe it's the cutesy stereo-type I'm used to or something. But I wanna see some faeries. I know the most stupidest question would be "how the hell can you spot a faerie?" but I feel like that is something I'm supposed to ask. But I don't know anything of the sort when it comes to angels.
I do see the random specs of light every once in a while when I least expect it. I see it as an assurance that the spirit world is with me whever I go (It's like a given).
I guess I'm kinda like this when it comes to leprcaughns (I can't spell @ all today.), unicorns, dragons, elves, etc.
Can anyone relate or have anything to say or something? Thanks people.

Can I relate!? The answer to that question is yes. I was a little sceptical too, when it came to the concept of faeries, being more than just make believe and part of fairytales. But I wanted to believe. So I persisted. I began looking at any and all information about Faeries, and then I thought to myself, 'How can you believe in something you can't see?'
That was a big question, and it took a long time to answer. The answer being rather simple. You just do, in the long run it just comes down to Faith, and the will to believe in something that may seem unorthodox, to some.
During this whole process, and what really changed my focus on things, was the fact that I did, and have had a Faery encounter, and no, they are not all cute, sweet as pie beings. They can look and seem quiet frightening, and michevious, as did the ones, I saw.
I wouldn't say you'll always see faeries, as faery's are tricky, most likely you will see evidence that faeries have been around. Like loosing something you really want, and then finding it days later, in a place you've already looked.
I hope I've been able to give you some insight.
If you want to believe, you will.

It's the thing with the forcing myself to believe. I believe the human mind is powerful enough to mkae ourselves do anything. I don't want to live the fairy-tale life, but I also want my life to magical (like I've noticed it has been) but not unrealistcally.

Thing about believing is you either believe in something or you don't. There's no sense in forcing it. If believing in the Fae Folk doesn't come naturally, or your more sceptical than you are about wanting to believe in them, maybe thats a sign.

True enough. I guess if they're real and they have something to teach me or let me know, I'm sure they'd come. :)

I dunno if there's any sure fire way to spot one besides keep your eyes open. One might think the'd be more plentiful in woods, or gardens, but I spend a lot of time in places like that, but the one time I saw faeries that weren't specks of light was when I was at a bus stop in a residential area!
Try leaving honey out for them every so often, and maybe they'd be nice and show themselves? I dunno, but it seems worth a try!

Faires are so mischievous! They will rearrange and hide things in the night, but if you get on their good side they'll often aid you in finding lost items or in protecting your home. They seem more plentiful in some parts of the world, and while there are definately some 'city fairies' hanging out in the park and such, there seem to be more in the countryside.
If you're hoping to see a Leprechaun... you're not going to have much luck unless you're in Ireland, I'm afraid!

I SAW ONE! Hehe. At least I think it was one. When I was a kid, every St. Patricks day I used to go looking for Leprechauns, and once I saw this streak of lime green light go by me!

Really?
Hmmm... how strange. I've seen a few, never as streaks of light, they took the form of little men (one might have been a woman, hard to tell)... I was disappointed, they weren't wearing green!

Well, I suppose it might have been some other kind of faerie, but I don't think it's that far of a stretch to say that a few of them came over with the Irish settlers and have stuck around since then.

I started believing in faeries before I was even the nearest thing to a Pagan. I was an hardcore Christian who happened to take some pictures, unknowingly, of some faeries. That changed my life, basically, in terms of religion.
