I'm preparing to dedicate myself to Manannan. I have everything ready, but myself it seems! I'm rather nervous that something will go wrong, or I won't be accepted, or even that nothing will happen.
Soo, I was wondering if any of you had stories about this kind of thing to share?

A few years ago I decided that Thanatos was calling me to dedicate myself to him. I was scared to death (pun intended  ) I studied and read everything I could, planned the ritual and then finally did it. And afterwards? I felt nothing at all... I was so disappointed. Until a couple of days later when I started dreaming about him and seeing images representative of him EVERYWHERE. Then I knew I had done the right thing. A couple of years later, he let me know it was time to move on, I'd learned what I'd needed to learn from him and I was to learn other things elsewhere.
Don't be disappointed if you don't feel anything huge, or anything at all! Manannan will let you know when things are right. Deities live on different time than we do!

Manannan is one of my favourites :D
I'm not dedicated to him specifically, but I have done a lot of guided visualisations about/to him/with him in the past; I can safely say that if he's not interested, or thinks you should come back another day, you'll know soon enough. ;)
It's natural to be nervous before something like this, but try not to be! A good way to prepare yourself is to meditate daily, if you aren't doing so already. It really helps.
