Just a curious question?
I am drawn to the God and Goddess,I am not into certain wiccan,Asatru,or other practices.
I am drawn to the Celtic side of things. But have some interest in British things.
I believe this is due to the fact that I am of mixed British(Anglo Saxon/Norman)/Celtic(Welsh,Irish,Higland Scots,Breton) lineage. But also have from the British side Viking blood from further back.
And I dont have a green thumb,SO WHAT AM I? :elf:
I give up what are you ?

I honestly don't know what I am eather, so you're not alone.
Right now I am just studying all the various paths that are out there and learning.. and discovering.
When I find the place I belong I will know... and wont have to search any longer. Until then enjoy your journey to discovery ~every step is learning process and is one that only you can take.

I was much the same a year ago..i felt i had to fit in somewhere, had to belong to something, had to feel aconnection with a god/goddess...but you know what..it just mad me so unsettled and confused.
I have my own path,a mixture of beliefs,no goddess...and i've never been so happy..and i feel more at peace than ever.
Take an interest in all those things, maybe one will speak more clearly to you, maybe two or three will, and you know what..that's okay :)
I don't have a name for my path,i'm just a worshipper of the earth and all that she contains.I don't feel the need to have a label,i'm just me..and you're just you, whichever path you choose :)

Well said, but I have been going here and there for the last 3 and half yrs.I even recently went to a Catholic church,I was thinking hmm maybe it was Mary calling me and not the mother goddess, but I was wrong.I guess I am a British Heathen, meaning I am more drawn to the gods of Britian. But Primarly the god Cernunnos/Herne/Kern and Mother Earth in all her aspects.

I can all to well, understand. I am in the same boat. I'm not into any one path but I am drawn to Celtic (Irish on dad's side, Welsh and Swede along with some German and Italian on mom's)
and Native American beliefs. I see signifcant similarities between the Celtic and Shaman paths. I know I'm not Christian although I was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. I was 16 when i started to question my belief, or rather what I was pretty much taught. I guess I've always been interested in spirituality rather than religion. I'm drawn to Pagan beliefs because of the idea of harmony and balance, an ideal that is shared with Sharmanism and the Celtic paths. Gods and Goddess were symbolic of this IMHO,for example, there was no one gender that was more important than the other. Females and Males were virtually equal. The Christian religion destroyed that ideal, again, in my opinion. The Bible is filled with stories vilifying women, which has persisted today in the form of the fundelmentliest. Then I started to do some reading and research and found many pagan beliefs were very similar to Christian beliefs, having absorbed many of the pagan beliefs to make their religion more palpable to the ancient ones.

My religion is continual seeking and learning from paths. So you might say my path is paths.
Or my religion is paths. I just call myself a Seeker.

I believe this is due to the fact that I am of mixed British(Anglo Saxon/Norman)/Celtic(Welsh,Irish,Higland Scots,Breton) lineage.
Incidentally British originally meant the whole Island, whose people were Celtic speaking. Later the south east portion became Saxon speaking, and eventually expanded to what is now England. Population studies show that although the language changed, the people were added to rather than being displaced. The language moved, and some people, but not all or even most people.
So, people from England may have Saxon, Angle, Jute ancestors, or indeed Viking ones,;they may have Norman ancestors, and they may have British (Celtic) ancestors. Most likely, a mixture.
Same for Scotland of course, people may have British (celtic) or Pictish (also probably Celtic) or Norse, or Scotti (Irish Celtic) ancestors.or indeed Norman, or Saxon, or ...
And of course there have been smal number of people living in Britain from all over the world, for the last two millenia.
A source of confusion is that, with the union of the crowns and the takeover of Scotland by England, aname was needed for this larger entity. The name chosen was British, which leads people to associate British with its more modern cultural context, ie essentially English.

And incidentally, at least two of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms are likely to have taken their names from Celtic words - Deira and Bernicia (Deur and Berneich). Some things get absorbed by the new culture too.

You are correct, I knew all this by the way.I actually have a little of it all.On me fathers side I know of Welsh or Scottish because the name(Lewis) could be either,Smith,Brown, AND others. On my mothers side I have Wiggins,Hooks,Sheffield,Lynch,Williamson,Barlow(not sure what this is?),Beesley,Cooper(from Stratford Upon Avon),Kelley,Plantagenent, and many others some traced all the way back to the Norse king Rollo.
When I said British I should have said English I suppose. :hmmmmm:

I'd be tempted to say "A person with an addiction to labels", but that'd probably make me a hypocrite on some level. :D

maybe your own path? hehe, I, too am drawn to different aspects of different paths, but my main interest is drawn to the Celtic Gods, Goddesses and traditions. I consider myself part of the Celtic path, but I dont' necessarily think the title is as important as the beliefs. Consider what you do believe, maybe you will be comfortable just calling yourself pagan or Wiccan? And if people ask what that means or what you believe, just speak from what you know and follow however many different traditions that may include. :lol

According to the quize on that link I seem to be drawn to more things Heathen/Anglo Saxon. At the time I just say I am a heathen or pagan. Some people give you a strange but not to condemning look when you respond by saying "I am just a plain ole heathen". :drinking:
