Getting woken up during dreams - there aren't many things that get to me like this.

The night before last I was having a rather unusual dream about meeting a 10-foot high Ethiopian guy and getting my driver's licence from my martial arts Sifu (yes I have weird dreams sometimes :p )... and then all of a sudden I hear this beeping and Sifu asks, "What's making the noise?" I start looking around the room, trying to find the source of the beeping, then all of a sudden realise, ah crap, it's my alarm, and get ripped out of my dream to the annoying beep of my phone telling me it's time to wake up.

For some reason, this kind of thing really gets to me. I was really depressed for about the first half day, to the point where I was having trouble thinking. I have no idea why, but aaarrrggghhh! I was lucky enough to talk to someone who made me feel better later that day.

What IS the go with this?

Amazing... I can't believe this is the first thread I looked at, because I'm suffering something similar right now. And if I find the owner of the car with the car alarm that's been going off since 3 AM, I'm going to rip the alarm from the car and make them eat it!!!!! :bangyourh Nothing like getting two hours of sleep...

Actually, that's true! Waking from a dream is the ONLY way you remember it. If the dream ends and you don't wake up, it's gone forever. And that's a fact, Jack!

Getting woken from a dream, especially one of those wild vivid ones, basically leaves me feeling like I've been hit by a truck all day. AWFUL> I had it happen earlier this week.

I refer to my alarm clock as Satan's imp.

Grrr... this morning, my alarm clock went off right as the person in my dream was going to tell me something very important.... I tried to go back to sleep to carry on, but no.:bug:

Merry Meet

This is my opinion and just an opinion . I think our dreams are there sometimes there just to creat a challenge ( most likely why your martial arts teacher was there ) maybe your teacher was making a challenge for you by saying where's that coming from and you felt as though you had too know when realy it didn't matter . So dont worry , if the dream was importent it will repeat itself .

It's more like paying to watch a movie in the theatre and the power goes out.

Many time the real world will infiltrate your dreams when you are 'in between' waking and dreaming. It then gets translated into the abstract and infects your dream. I once dreamt that someone was yelling for help and I looked all around to find the person. I woke up and my neighbor's dog was barking. I also dreamt that an orange was right underneath my nose and the pulp was tickling my nose. I woke with a nose bleed.

This usually happens when you are being awaken by some noise in the real world, like an alarm clock, phone, somebody mowing their lawn at the crack of dawn or some bodily function that needs to be attended to.

Waking up from a really good... or really detailed dream... irritates me too. :p Especially when its the middle of the night and for no apparent reason!

When I wake up in the middle of a dream because of something, it has no resolution, doesn't get to finish itself. So it will bother me all day. I try to stay sleeping long enough to let them finish, and will go back to sleep most of the time if I'm awoken in the middle of one.

No it's not a fact...I know a few people that have very vivid dreams and they remember every single detail from every single dream when they wake up. Im the opposite...I only rember really important dreams like past life regressions and stuff.
