I did a reading last night and I got the following cards: Judgement, 6 of Pentacles, 2 of swords (R)

I shuffled for a few minutes and pulled three more cards and I got the exct opposite: 2 of swords, 6 of pentacles (R), Judgement (R)

I know sometimes they can have a twisted sense of humour and all, but does this have any meaning at all? Or it is just some weird coincidence?

well I think that the cards might be trying to tell you something very important. I would do a reading and ask what they are trying to tell you

What was your question? What did the positions of the cards mean? Can't give much insight without more info. :)

I pulled three cards after asking if there was anything I should know about a certain person I think I had a dream about the night before, then as I was shuffling I was thinking moreso of myself and maybe how I relate to this person (don't remember the exact context) and that's what I got.

What did YOU think the cards meant?

Offhand I would say reserve your judgement on the person, wait until you have a more solid idea of who they are before making any decisions about them. Stay on the fence and don't give of yourself yet, they may not be deserving of your generosity. But I could be completely wrong. :)

The three cards did have a meaning for me, I just didn't understand why I got the same exact thing in reverse even though I shuffled for a while before doing a second reading.

Oh, I see. I thought you wanted clarification on the cards themselves. My apologies.

Well then, I'd have to agree that there was a message there that was being driven home. Pay attention to this situation, it is obviously important.

I agree..whenever the same cards keep coming up I take it as a sure sign that I need to pay extra close attention and take the message very much to heart. I've actually had it happen doing readings with 3 different decks and getting the exact same cards, in almost the identical order. Pretty much convinced me that "coincidence" didn't have a darned thing to do with tarot reading.....

I had the 9 of Swords come up in three of my daily readings in a row. Right around the time I discovered that my husband had somehow brought bed bugs home as a result of his frequent business travel and hotel stays. I'm quite certain that card was trying to tell me I was gonna have massive nightmares about the whole situation, and it sure wasn't kidding! *shudder*

I firmly believe there are no "freak accidents" in tarot. I'm not sure HOW it works, but I know that it does, and that we somehow draw the cards that will speak to our situation, or another's situation (when we're not reading for ourselves). So obviously these same three cards coming up in two consecutive readings, regardless of their order, means something important.
