Independently yours: The Sun opposes Uranus
Oppositions come at an interesting time in the orbit of the planets-- when a planet is in the middle of its retrograde phase. (Uranus stationed Retrograde on May 29 and will station Direct on October 30.)
When we are too internalized and caught up in our personal dramas and dilemmas, the opposition comes along to restore balance and remind us about other people and the outside world. Oppositions are, after all, about increasing our awareness. And when we can't handle the awareness, we project on others.
As the Sun opposes Uranus, you can feel as though your identity is changing. And even though new possibilities opening up all around you can be exciting, if you're holding on to the past too tightly, it can also feel de-stabilizing and nerve wracking.
Just when you need the freedom to think and plan for yourself, others can come along with distracting opinions and immediate needs. And if you've made plans, something unexpected can come up to unexpectedly change everything.
Staying flexible and open to change can be liberating, but making an impulsive move based on high anxiety can make everything more unstable, and you may not even feel the same way in a day or so.
Using your interesting new insights and ingenuity can help you to find surprisingly simple ways to connect opposing opinions and diverse ideas, among friends and within yourself, and even make it possible to take your whole show to the next level.
As the Sun opposes Uranus this week, the Moon is also conjunct the Sun, meaning that both the Sun and the Moon are opposing Uranus at the time of the New Moon in Leo.
Your need for change may be dramatic, but if you're not allowing yourself to make changes, you can make it more obvious by projecting that need on others. If you feel challenged by someone's open individuality, you may be repressing something vital in yourself and you may need to find ways to feel free to be yourself and express your own individuality.
