View Full Version : stacker 2 and tummy pudge

i'm considering taking Stacker 2, or some other similar substance, to help me lose some weight.
i'm just SO tired... and when i eat, i eat a LOT... and it seems i'm either going to eat my daily caloric intake, or i'm going to hardly eat at all, inbetween doesn't seem to work right.
so i figured i'd take some of these "miracle fat burners", and maybe then i'll have enough energy to excersize (work tires me out).
i only want to lose about 10 or 15 pounds max, or at least flatten my stomach... and all the abdominal excersizes i've ever tried simply don't help, once i'm over a certain weight (i'm 144 now) that tummy pudge returns with a vengeance.
my ideal weight is about 125. any lower than that and I look sick. but for some reason.. whether it's "getting older", my "birth control", my "diet", my "lifestyle" or all of them combined, i've gained about 20 pounds in the last year, and i'm not happy.
also, any tips on excercises that actually WORK to improve the abdominal and stomach muscle areas, becasue i have an abs of steel tape, and it's never worked, and i've tried it religiously... *shrugs*
help?:(

You've probably got great muscular abs under there, just they're covered in that pudge. The ab burning stuff like crunches helps the muscles, but you also need to blast the fat by doing aerobic/cardio work so those muscles can be seen.
I wouldn't advocate using any of that stuff they sell in stores, but I've probably read too many "I tried that new fat burning miracle and ended up in the hospital after a heart attack" stories.

I tried Stacker 2, once. It gave me the jitters and some of the stuff that is listed as an ingredient was a little "iffy". My mom's a nurse, and I showed her the bottle. She said one of the things (i can't remember which name) wasn't too good.
I'd try and keep up with the excersing. Drink lots of water, it helps keep your energy up. I've noticed since I started to drink water all day at work I don't have that "3 pm lag" anymore.
Try to eat a lot of little meals during the day too, so that when you do eat, you don't pig out.
I'm trying all these tricks, believe me I KNOW how hard it is to excerise. I'm a HUGE excerse slacker. I play softball for most of the spring, summer & fall, but that's about it. I KNOW i'm supposed to do more. So dishing advice out is a lot easier than following it sometimes.

I got the metabolite stuff- it makes you reeeeeeally jittery, like 100-cups-of-coffee jittery-- and my brother heard from a co-worker who was taking it also that he ended up losing all of his hair because of it. Plus they taste really awful.

The Jitteryness will subside when your body adapts. the best results I have had with any ECA stack would be Hydroxycut from Muscletech. Stacker and Stacker 2 is really enefficient with its use of the Ginseng Mu Huang combo. Too much is REALLY too much.
Try to get on a good excerise regimen and if you want to take a burner then go with Hydroxycut and follow the instructions on the bottle.

Oh...and one more thing. 'Fat Burner' is really a misnomer. The only thing it does is speed your metabolism up. If you do nothing with that extra speed (workout) then it does nothing for you.

On abs!
Oh so many...oh so little time...and oh...I DONT WANT TO!
Thats the problems with ab workouts. Most of them work very well. We just dont want to do them.
Best routines:
Crunches
Roman Chair
Side Bends (!)

If you have to use one, Hydroxycut is the best.

i'm just SO tired... and when i eat, i eat a LOT
Get your blood sugar tested. You might be hypoglycemic. (low blood sugar)
If this is true, very small portions very VERY often will relieve the fatigue.
Worked for me, and had similar tendancies.

well i suspected that for a while...
but apparently, i'm not.
i'm just out of shape... blah!
i lost a few pounds on my current diet of coffee, cigarettes, and stress.
not exactly a recommended course of action... but well... what can i say....
my husband is desperately talking me out of taking ANYTHING to help me lose weight because i'm not, as he says, "obese" or even "fat".
ugh... why is a size 9 so unacceptable to my stubborn female mind?
honestly, i'm just looking for some extra energy to get me started on a good excersize routine... and possibly to help me stop drinking coffee all day... i just don't want to end up dependant on some uber-expensive "fat burner".

I would kill for a size 9!!!!!! My best hope is a 12 since i'm so hippy, which I don't mind, but I'll probably settle for a 14.
I think it may not be a weight problem but how you view your body. I remember in high school I always thought I was fat just because I had a little tummy pudge. Now I know I looked hot back then. When you put on some real weight it makes a big difference on how you viewed yourself. I've actually lost quite a bit and already feel better.
The key to getting that extra energy is to make yourself workout. It may take a couple of weeks. Once you start it kind of self perpetuates. If you stop the energy slowly tapers off and then you start wondering why you're always tired.
I've recently started working out again, now that my baby is over 1yr, and its been tough to keep with it. I'm only averaging about 1.5 times a week, using a workout tape. I find if you can go to a gym its easier than trying to push yourself at home. The enviroment is different and helps out. But my tape is doing OK for now to ease myself into it and it makes me feel good, just not as good as lifting wieghts. I guess it doesn't last as long.

I have not found any addictions to 'fat burners'...in fact...they are a pain in the a$$ to keep up with..to me that is..if you are a caffiene person then you wont have any trouble dropping them when you dont need them anymore.

I can understand what you mean about the fat burning stuff.
To me it seems silly to use them. Some people will take them, then wonder why when they've stopped taking the pills they gain all the fat back. To me it wou ld just be easier to start munching celery sticks and carrot sticks instead. Size 9 is actually less then the national American average (which is 12), and I'm sure it would be higher somedays if not for those size 1 and 2 models bringing it down.

No, they really do give you a kick. If I take them before a workout, I really tear into it. Today I did cardio, and my heart rate stayed between 156 and 171... I was working hard, but I did not become exhausted. Whereas without them, maintaining a 156 heart rate is really, really difficult.
I cannot adjust my diet, I am not strong enough! I can only suppress the very bad parts, and avoid fatty foods. This seems to be enough.
But they are not addictive... I took it religoiusly for 3 weeks, and then stopped for a while, and now I only take them when I'm about to go to the gym, and even then I usually forget to do it.

I wasn't referring to the pills that are meant to give you extra motivation. There are those (often advertised in ladies magazines) supposedly credited with literally burning the fat themself (ie. no exercise or cutting down on food involved).

well, i've read up on a lot of them.
it's not a literal dependency, or addiction, it's just that some people, i suppose, like the extra energy enough that they abuse them, and it's just not healthy if you ask me.
my big problem is, that i have NO appetite left. I get hungry, but i can so easily supress it, that i sometimes hardly eat all day. last night i had a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk, and that was it all day.
I'm just afraid to eat anymore. If i eat, i gain weight. if i dont' eat, i might lose weight, but it will all end up being muscle, or something...
and being a size 9 is a direct result of my hips and thighs (my hips are about 40inches now). i've never been "skinny" but i've only been this heavy one other time in my life.
even if i don't lose weight i still need to find the energy to work out so that i at least look better and more toned. i want to go to a gym but i hate going alone (it's tough being around all those really great looking people doing impressive things, while you sit there doing like 40 pounds on the bench press machine.. and not even the freeweights... i tried once and i couldn't even lift the 35 pound bar!). My husband refuses to go (doesn't want to waste the money when he does fine just working out at home and working out on his job since he does messenger work and walks all day, he lost a few pounds and he's all toned up now only after a few weeks of work...
I mean, i have decent muscle tone.. .UNDER the fat. i used to leg press like 500lbs, my legs are pretty defined.. but not like they could be.. and my abdominal stuff... i used to do SO MANY crunches (not just regular ones, the ones where you tilt to the side, and the thing where you lift your knees up too, all that stuff)... like averaging 300 a night (6 sets of 50), but then.. i dunno.. i didn't see the results i wanted so i just gave up...
i'm also wondering if I should try that meal replacement stuff again.. i was eating Balance bars, and drinking instant breakfast.... but i didn't really get anywhere... and it was getting expensive (those bars are like.. 1.25 at the supermarket, and like 2 bucks if i buy them in a deli) since i had no income a few months ago. now that i have money.. i'm wondering if it will help any... maybe not eating as much , but using the bars and drinks to still give me my vitamins and protein will help? i dunno.. i'm so lost and confused and all my husband says is "just work out.. don't say you're going to do it.. just DO it..." and i feel like i'm in a reject Nike ad. none of my friends work out (they're either ultra skinny or really heavy with no motivation to change), and like i said i hate working out alone.. not to mention i'm so tired... work is stress to the max... i really want to go to a gym again... that always keeps me motivated, plus if i'm paying for it i am gonna use it to the max!

also... there is this thing... originally i think there was one that Bruce Lee endorsed. It's this little patch/belt thing that you put on your tummy or other area you want to "work out" and it "shocks" the muscles with very slight electic pulses to "excersize" your muscles without physically doing it yourself. I guess it sort of forces the muscles to repeatedly contract.
ARe those things safe? they're kinda expensive, but if they aren't dangerous, i might consider it. Apparently you can do the equivalent of a few hundred crunches in only maybe 10 or 20 minutes, and you can do anything you want (read, cook, work, watch TV, post at MW) while you do it. but i dunno.. it sounds so... unsafe.

Ok a device is electricalliy shocking your body at regular intervals. To me, being electrically shocked on PURPOSE seems ridiculous - can't be good for your heart as far as I'm concerned. But that's JMHO.
First, forget all the rest of the stuff - the shakes, the balance bar, the fat burners.... When you don't eat properly everything you DO eat gets stored as fat. Period. Your body goes into starvation mode, and everything you do eat becomes fat. Your body will be more likely to keep that fat on, it doesn't know when you'll eat properly again!!
So the MOST important thing is to FIRST get yourself eating properly. It's recommended that you eat about 5 small meals a day. Half a sandwich, a couple pieces of celery, some crackers, an apple, eat REGULARLY! This is the most important thing! Also, it's important to realize that when you don't eat properly your body goes for the muscles when it needs energy, not the fat. You're losing muscle tone as well as keeping the fat!
Please start eating properly first :)

You can't have your body and not eat well.
So, make a choice over which path you choose. The Divine made us work this way, and trying to circumvent that will get you in the end.
For the most dramatic results, weight training is damn near essential. If you want to be a good weight, you can do this with diet and exercise. A good figure demands weights.

A good figure demands weights? Well, I'm not sure if you meant that literally. That is your opinion and I understand that anyway. I disagree though. I have fairly good strength and muscle definition just from doing normal activities, I only have to do cardio stuff to keep myself healthy and lose fat.
I know you were kidding, and I hate most veggies too. But ya gotta eat better. :) :)

well, if i could eat broccoli all day, i would. problem is i dont' like it raw, or undercooked, so i probably cook all the good stuff out of it.. :(
i'm sure i'll eventually find a way to force feed myself healthy food.
if only cheese fries where a vegetable....

True true. While it might be easy (and tempting) to just stop eating for a few days at a time, this brings you no closer to your goals. It is not a matter of absolutes; basic intuitive laws of conservation are NOT respected! It took me a long time to wrap my mind around the concept, since I am a card-carrying absolutist.
When you eat nothing, your body reacts by BURNING LESS! It hoards energy as fat! When you eat regularly, your body will burn more accordingly. Less is more, more is less. Wacky! The situation you want to avoid is eating SO MUCH that the body burns plenty, and then also stores plenty!
Don't eat before bedtime also, because all that food just goes right to fat. Unless you can burn a whole lot of calories in your sleep with some crazy nightmare or something.

True true. It's usually recommended that you stop eating at least 2 hours before bedtime. I can never keep to that myself either but they suggest it :)

I don't eat before bed, but I sometimes have a beer, which is just as bad.. but twice as yummy. So it's worth it.
