View Full Version : Wow...how do I interpret THIS one?

I woke up a little bit ago from a dream that I have NO idea how to interpret. Any ideas?
In the dream, I openend my eyes and got out of a bed. I looked around and I was in the WIERDEST bedroom I had ever been in. It looked very Roman-esq. I wandered around the house I was in and I came to this little indoor fountain. I looked down and I saw a much older version of myself, probably around 30 or so. I was dressed in a simple white toga, bare feet and a brass armband. Kinda freaky to see one's self 14 years into the future but thats beside the point. I didnt see any electric lights, or ANY modern appliances, then I realized, it was because I was inside a Roman villa, quite a nice one at that. But there was...somethin wierd about this villa. There were pentagrams ALL over the frickin place. The pots and pans in the kitchen, the goblets for wine, the door handles, tiles throuough the house, in places on the mosaics on the walls EVERYWHERE. I was kinda just...wandering around, when a woman came through a door, very beautiful and dressed in a ladie's fasion Roman toga. It took me a second to realize that she looked exactly like my girlfriend, Theresa, just older, if I had to guess, Id say....25, maybe. We kissed and she ran back into the room she came out of, then came BACK with a little girl in her arms. Beautiful child, maybe about 4 or 5, red hair and blue eyes like Ive never seen before.
Whats really wierd is that my wife, servants that passed me, and even my child were speaking Greek, but I heard it like English. Plus it was like...my body knew what everything was, where everything was, who everyone was, but my mind had no frickin idea even WHERE I was. Like someone else was controlling my body but my mind was along for the ride.
Now, I consider myself fairly skilled at dream interpretation and reasonably intelegent. But I have NO concept of how THAT dream can be interpreted. I would have written it off as an interest in Ancient Rome gone whacky, but what about the pentacles? Im a history dork so I know alot about Anciet Rome, EVERY detail was perfect about the villa, EVERYTHING. Even the pentacles didnt look out of place.
Any ideas? Have I just totally...lost the last marble I had left?

Merry Meet
Maybe it doesn't mean anything
maybe you just put two good things together
and came up with a villa filled with pentagrams ,
my mind does this all the time .
Thats just what I think though.

Maybe a past life thing? The only time I had a dream that vivid it was not just a dream and later found that was the time of a past life. Just a thought, maybe it was a dream...hard to say. Take what you want from it.

I'm not great at dream interpretation so... my two cents is that since you saw yourself and your girlfriend as older, maybe it has something to do with the future instead. Or maybe you are answering a question that you asked yourself a while ago and you're now getting the answer to it. Kinda like in meditation or in scrying, you got many symbols in your dream. I usually get out a dream book of symbols for things like this. They can give you great clues when you are stumped. If you also know any divination methods, it could help you figure the meaning.

Ive tried dream dictionaries before but I ended up being more confused after I read it than before I even picked it up

Well... usually when something like this happens to me, I turn to my cards. If you use a pendulum I'm sure you could narrow a few things down. I'm sorry I cant help more. Your dream seems as confusing as mine are sometimes. :)

Dyou think that there are some dreams that dont really mean anything? Theyre just your mind playing with its Legos?

At first thought I would say that some dreams are just dreams, but I think all dreams have some meaning. I think the importance of dreams are weighed by how useful they are to our waking lives, but our dreams might have benefits and meanings for us on different levels, so I never rule my dreams out. My dreams are sometimes ordinary too. They range from strange and confusing (never twisted:raining: ) to whatever my dominant thought of the day was. Like last night was about me having an OBE. I was reading a book about it that day too. I have no idea what that means, only that I hit a topic I know I am interested in on many levels. You get what I'm trying to say?:uhhuhuh:

People who work with astral travel sometimes use symbols as "gateways", to focus on where they want to go... It could be that your astral self was off exploring some past lives, and the pentagrams may be sort of a "safety" symbol for you so that you could "find your way home". :)

Yeah but...on EVERYTHING? Even my daughter had a pentagram tattooed on her temples. The tiles in the fountain, about the size of a quarter, ALL had little gold-colored pentagrams on them even.

I'd do some deep meditation on the Pentagram then... :) Beyond the "usual" meanings, are there other associations your mind may be making to that symbol, ie: a personal meaning all your own? It might not be strikingly obvious, but as most people say dream books can only take you so far because everyone has their own associations with things.
Also I know seeing all the Pentagrams is confusing you now, but when you were /in/ the dream, how did your dream self react to seeing them everywhere? Calm? Panicked?

Do you or your girlfriend have an interest in witchcraft or other Pagan spirituality? You said you were interested in Roman history so that idea was released in the dream. Penticales suggest an interest in the God/Goddess, perhaps of the Greco-Roman area. Perhaps you were in a Greek or Roman temple. Look into the Greek and Roman Gods/Goddess. Perhaps the girl who looked like your girlfriend represents Athena or Apherdidie (sp) Many Roman and Greek Gods and Goddess are the same but with different names, such as Zeus and Apolo.
Don't be surprsed if your unconscious comes up with god images from a more ancient tradition than the ones you were brought up in. In some school of thoughts, your mind seems to have a memory that reaches back to the past and even beyond. In this case, the dream may represent a life with your girlfriend, ( her representitive in the dream had a child) it could mean that you two have been planning a life together or it is something that you wish for. It appears to be a pleasant dream, even though you were confused about the penticales, which I think may indicate a leaning towards a Wicca tradition that you may be exploring.
Dream dictionaries should be used as a reference only and used to spur ideas that has meaning to you. Don't take them literally.

Theresa (My girlfriend) is Athiest but shes kinda swaying around, looking for something to believe in. Ive offered to teach her about Paganism but she hasnt taken me up on my offer, so I dont know her exact interest.
And I personally worship Athena as my matron goddess, Minerva in her Roman counterpart. I dont know if that means anything to the dream.
