Check out the Greek pantheon as most of the deities, especially the male ones, had gay relations with various mortal and demi-Gods. For example Zeus and Ganymede, Apollo and Hyacinthus (actually Apollo was very frivolous in the sex department and had multiple male partners), Artemis is sometimes considered a lesbian Goddess because she vowed she would never love again after she was tricked into killing her fiance Orion and she enjoys hanging out with her nymphs *wink wink nudge nudge*.

If you can find a copy, "Cassell's Encyclopedia of Queer Myth, Symbol and Spirit" (ISBN 0-304-70423-7) is full of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered references from mythology.

I'd recommend Hermes... not that Hermes is necessarily "gay", but he kinda seems to "transcend" the whole gender issue. ;)
