Insomnia
Lavender is perhaps the essential oil you think of for insomnia. However, Marjoram ( Origanum marjorana) is another excellent oil for anxiety, nervous tension and emotional exhaustion. Best used in a bath or massage oil. Blended with Lavender it's synergistic effect will be more effective than either used alone.
Caution: Do not use Marjoram while pregnant, it stimulates
menstruation.
Bath Gels
Try a blend of Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Rosemary in a bath or shower gel. It will awaken the senses, clear the mind and help you face the day. It's easy to create your own personalized bath or shower gels. To every 5 oz. of unscented product, add 15-20 drops of essential oils.
Blending
Essential oils generally fall into a few catagories:
Relaxing, Stimulating, Balancing or Euphoric.
If you are new to blending do not mix Relaxing with Stimulating oils as they will generally cancel each other out.
Children's Dosages
Use half the usual dosage when diffusing essential oils in a child's room.
