MM,
I've looked through out the message boards and I didn't see a question or an answer like the one I have. I was reading in one of the books I have on Wicca, and it stated that when you cast a circle no part of you can pierce it or all the power and energy is lost. By the time you cast 3 circles as it was described, the last one is roughly 5' in diamater. Is this correct? The room that I use for Rituals is roughly 10' by 10'. After reading this I have been hesitant about casting a circle since the ones that I have cast my head has "pierced" the circle. I need some advice on this please. I'm just wondering if I'm doing anything wrong.
Thanks and Bright Blessings!

(sorry about the typos)

I think this post is a good one for the New Pagans thread, I bet a lot of new Pagans wonder about casting circles "the right way"! What you read is a *suggestion* on how to cast your circle. Some (like the author there) believe that you can't pierce the circle at all or you'll lose the power, some believe that to pierce it (ie. to walk in and out of it) you have to draw a door in it to exit and enter from, others don't care if you go through the circle, still others don't even cast a circle at all! I've never heard of casting 3, but if you think that sounds right go ahead. I would suggest you take what you read and edit it for your purposes. For example, if the book's suggestion isn't possible in your room, try casting just one circle, or changing the size of the 3, or not casting a circle at all if you like. Don't get the idea that, if you do it different, you will be wrong. The Gods aren't sitting there making sure you measure everything properly! So try it, and learn, and we'll be here to help. Don't be afraid! :)

I've heard of the casting 3 consecutive circles thing. I've even seen it in practice. The thing about it (at least with those people) was that you can make them as big or as small as you like. From what I understand, you can cast it completely around your house or property if you want. It's all up to you.
Btw... Welcome to Mystic Wicks!
