this is something i would like to learn in order to better my knowledge of myself and how the mind works. It would also be fun. Is there a particularly good book out there, or any good websites? Any help would be appreciated.

Start paying attention to your dreams by writing them or recording on a tape recorder. Dreams fade quickly so as soon as you remember it, write or record it. Pay attention to how you feel in your dream, smells and thoughts in the dream. You will find that when you go back and listen to are read the dreams, patterns could emerge. Dreams resemble a jig saw puzzle and ofter are in abstract so focus on these aspects as well. Many time, at least mine are, they tend to be cleches.
For example, My mother was recently seperated from my father and after a couple of months, she told me she dreamt that she was walking behind dad on a street when all of a sudden, his head fell off. I just started to laugh and told her that it means that she thought dad had 'lost his head'. I often dream like that as well.

Get a dream dictionary. Don't take the definitions literally though because dreams have meaning to you and the dictionary tends to be like daily newspaper horoscopes and are generallized. But it could give you clues to you personal dream world.:falloffch
