Does anybody have a new moon ritual (or link to) that I can have and manipulate/modify it to my will?
I'd really appreciate it.

There's a little prayer to the New Moon in the Carmina Gadelica:
An eternal greeting to you, New Moon, tonight, for you are forever the joyous lamp of the poor!

I usually like a model to work from and modify, it makes me feel better.

the Dark Moon equivalant of a 'Blue Moon' is called a 'Black Moon', and is considered a VERY powerful time to work magick.

Here's what I usually do. Please note I said "what *I* do", not what you or anyone should do or what I think is the right thing for everyone, or... get the picture? Sorry, just making sure. LOL.
- Prepare, cleanse.
- Call quarters.
- Ground and center.
- Dance to some "dark" music, often drums, to raise energy.
- Then sink to the ground. Meditate on Goddess in crone aspect.
-Take piece of paper and pen (laid out before the ritual, obviously). Write down 2 or 3 things I want to let go or get rid of in my life. Read them over. Think about it. Then burn the paper (if you should do this, be CAREFUL not to set anything else on fire). See the things you want to get rid of go up in smoke and crumble to ashes.
- Give thanks, do some more grounding, release elementals.
Hope this helps :)
Hugs!!

Thanks Greenman- in ALL of my studies (and I can assure you, even in my young age, it is a lot)- I've never, ever heard of a 13th New Moon, specifically a Black Moon.
How often does a 13th new moon occur? Once a year, like the blue moon? Or is it much longer?

This all depends on which definitions you use for the moons. I personally follow that a blue moon is the 4th full moon in a season, not the second full moon in a calendar month. Therefore for me a black moon is the 4th new moon in season.
There is another definition for black moon, which is that a black moon occurs when there is no full moon in a calendar month, ie in February when January has had 2 full moons. It depends how you interpret it. I think dark moon might mean something different in astrology too.
Of course you could follow that either of the above interpretations of a blue moon are 'fake' in that they only started to be used from the 19th century onwards. It is thought that a long time before that the phrase 'once in a blue moon' refered to the phemomenon of the moon actually appearing blue due to atmospheric conditions, which of course would have been even rarer.
You might find this article interesting skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/moon/article_127_1.asp (http://skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/moon/article_127_1.asp)
for some reason as a link it won't work (something about cookies) so try copying and pasting it into a new browser window with just http:// before it and not www. It will work then.

I've always been told that the best use of the New Moon's energies was to set in motion the changes to bring something new into your life. As a ritual you might plant a seed for each "new" thing you want to see manifest into your life--a new job, a new romance, a new attitude. Just be careful what you "wish" for..be very specific. I have a friend whose New Moon wish to give up sugar and caffine manifested as a serious medical condition that forced her to give up sugar and caffine.

a 13th New Moon would have to occur once a year, i think.
however, whether or not this is a 'Black Moon' depends on other things. i prefer the Blue Moon definition of "4th Full Moon in a single season", so i associate the Black Moon by that criteria too.

Well I didn't really mean the 13th, as in the last moon of the year or anything.
But just the one moon on top of the other 12 in each of the calendar months.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
