WHAT EXACTLY IS DREAMING?
Certain processes occur during the sleep stage while others occur only while a person is dreaming. Sleep does not necessarily mean to dream. There are states of dreaming that are not truly part of sleep, in which a person can come pretty close to being awake though not fully conscious. The majority of dreams however occur while a person is asleep. Not remembering a dream does not mean you have not dreamed. Dream memory fades quickly upon awakening and you may simply not remember. That is why it is a good idea to keep a Dream Journal because it is harder for some to remember their dreams. If you wake through the night from a dream quickly pen as much information about the dream down while it is still fresh in your mind. Some of us may not have that problem you may wake in the morning and still remember a dream you had at say 1:00 a.m. therefore you may write it down when you feel the need.
We already know what happens to the body when we are asleep; the unconscious part of the mind is allowed free range of expression while the body functions on a reduced scale maintaining vital functions just enough activity to maitain life. The mind and spirit however not necessarily dormant.
The minds natural task is to filter information from the outside to the unconscious level in order to be understood by the dreamer. Filtering is done so each person will except it which is based on each individuals willingness to except the material. It is different for each of us.The spirit or psyche is now free to send symbolical material to the conscious level to call attention to certain conditions he/she is not normally aware of. Both processes use imagery and auditory material that is why we see and hear in dreams.
You can divide dreams into four categories:
Dreams due to physical problems resulting in nightmares or distorted imagery
Dreams due to suppressed material, useful with psychoanalytical processes
Dreams of psychic nature
Out-Of-Body experiences
Dreams caused by physical problems do in no way relieve these pressures, what they do is notify him/her of the existence of some type of disturbance in the body or environment. The moment your system is back in balance this type of dreaming will cease.
Dreams due to suppressed material is useful when dealing with psychoneurotic individuals, because these people at times can be cured through discussion of his/her suppressed problem. This should not be done alone but with a professional.
Dreams due to physical problems @ suppressed material are not nearly as vivid as psychic dreams or out-of-body experiences. The first two categories are more easily forgotten upon waking unless they are immediately written down. Not so with psychic dreams or out-of-body experiences; one is rarely able to shake them. Some psychic dreams are so strong they waken the dreamer and in most cases the dream remain clear in the memory for long periods of time. The first two categories are usually jumbled and confusing bits and pieces while the other two categories are complete messages or events. Of course their are cases were the categories get mingled together this happens when the dreamer is not fully relaxed or is not a good recipent of external materials.

LESSON II
Sleep period with babies consist of two distinct phases that we all experience:
Rapid eye movement or REM sleep: during this time is when we actively dream. Your eyes move almost as if your watching a dream take place.
Non REM sleep: consists of four phases: drowsiness, light sleep, deep sleep and very deep sleep. During the progression from drowiness to deepest sleep you become less and less active, breathing slows and becomes very quiet. Very little if any dreaming occurs during non-REM sleep.
1 drowsiness
2 REM sleep
3 light sleep
4 deep sleep
5 very deep sleep
This pattern last all the way into adulthood.
Now that we've covered what dreaming is and how we sleep lets get down to why we're here. DREAMS, the different types and what to look for in your dreams.............

Different Types Of Dreams:
Prophectic: Future events are foreseen or foretold
Warning: Future events are depicted in such away that one can alter the results
ESP: containg telepathic material frequently of simultaneous events or retrocognitive materialsuch as psychometeric dreams were events from the past unknown to the dreamer are experienced
Out-Of-Body: The dreamers inner self leaves the physical shell and travels to events pr places external to the personality
Survival: Communicating with the other world or with individuals who have pasted
Reincarnation: Experiences from other lifetimes are relived or memories realized which are not known to the dreamer in his/her conscious state.
Symbolical: Psychological meaning given to the dreamer to help them with everyday problems.
The Bible and other ancient documents are full of interpretations in which differentiation has to be made between the dream image and its meaning of reality.
Calpurnia the wife of Julius Caesar had dreamt of his assassination that night. Caesar however rejected her warning.
Artemidorus the philosopher stated dreams and visions are infused into men for their advantage and instruction.
He considered dreams from two points of view ordinary dreams caused by mental or physical conditions of the dreamer and his environment and dreams pertaining to the future containing material and symbols which could be interpreted to foretell events yet to come. The ancients put great stock in omens events in the future that where not clear but which could be interpreted as having significance for either the one observing the omen or for others.Omens are more of a disguised warning of things to come.

Prophetic dreams may range from involving entire groups of people or the world to minor concerns of individuals pertaining to their future or that of friends and relatives. Prophetic dreams hold the element of future events that have not yet happened or even begun to happen, they can not be foretold with the use of the five senses. The message is clear, precise and sufficiently detailed to warrant the of prophecy. Prophetic material can be obtained also in an awake state. When it comes in a dream state it allows for a deeper and easier penetration of the conscious mind. most people apply logical values to psychic material coming to them and in the dream state logic is absent. For external individuals it is easier to get through to a person here while they sleep. Remember it depands on how well your willing to except the messages in order for them to get through. It would be foolish to dismiss a psychic dream just because the date for the predicted event has come and gone. They may happen anywhere from a few hours after having the dream to years.
Prophetcic dreams have no symbolism. These dreams do not have to have anything do do with the dreamer but for some reason they can foresee the event. Sometimes psychic dreams as with others things reverse left and right or up and down. As our eyes see things upside down and straightens them up before forwarding the impression to the brain center dealing with sight.
Sometimes we dream in spurts, you may have one dream and nothing at all for several years. this may reflect on changes in our environment or physical and mental states but it is hard to tell. You may even is a set pattern in how you dream while keeping a dream journal. You may remember dreams once a week or every three weeks dream for a week straight then stop again.
Many prophetic dreams foretell death or tragedy but don't confuse this with a warning dream. Prophetic dreams are events that will happen, warning dreams are events see so that you may change them. Prophetic dreams do not need alot of interpretation for they are telling you actually what will happen. Some prophetic dreams may have several parts to deal with one part may come true now and another part in the distant future. Some psychic dreams however may be incomplete this is not the fault of the dreamer not remembering the full dream but the communication of the events of the dream being incomplete not fully told a disconnection of some type. Prophectic dreams can not be forced.
You may ask any questions that you may have as we go over these step by step or post any comments as well.

A warning dream contains an element of urgency to do something about the outcome of a certain situation. Warning dreams show scenes just like prophetic dream the difference is they are protrayed merely as possibilities which may be averted. The thing about warning dreams is you are never sure whether or not you can change the outcome.
The majority of warning dreams presents a scene in which the dreamer is an onlooker not a participant even when the dreamer appears in the picture it is clear and understood that this is not actually happening but being watched.
Warning dreams forewarn the dreamer of a potential danger or some other impending event usually with a degree of severity. It is however something that not everyone has almost like certain people are chosen to receive warning dreams. You may not remember the dream right off. But when the situation comes to hand the dream warning is triggered in the mind a feeling to prevent this action.
Whenever the dreamer finds he/she is suffering some tragic fate or feeling this is real it would not fall under a warning dream. This would fall under premonitory experience which will eventually happen to the dreamer. Warning dreams can also be rather vague in that one dreams they should not do certain things or go on certain journeys or even see a certain person on a particular day. You may in fact get a warning dream through a survival dream. Warning dreams are not always tragic with death but an event or situation that needs to be changed for one reason or another.

The dreamer perceives or receives messages or information from another person.
Either living or dead but pertaining to the present. The transmission need not be conscious or exact the dreamer simply picks up thought energy. Both contemplated events and actual events maybe the subject of such dreams.
Somewhat different is the second type of ESP dreams simultaneous dreams the dreamer tunes in on an event going on at a distance. The dreamer is present without being seen.
You dream the event as it is happening in the distance it could be next door or even across the country. ESP can happen as well in the wake state.

Esp
ESP dreams are telepathic dreams in which the dream perceives or receives information from another person. Living or dead but pertaining to the present even if at a distance. In this type of dream the transmission need not be conscious or exact. The dreamer picks up thought energy. Both a contemplated events and actual event may be the suject of this type of dream.
In simultaneous ESP dreams the dreamer tunes in to an event going on at a distance. In this type of dream the dreamer is present without being seen. Those dreams where the dreamer is noticed at a distant location are thought of as Out -Of- Body experiences. This will be talked about next...........
Retrocognitive ESP dreams is an event that has already taken place in the past but the dreamer is not familiar with it in his/her conscious state. They somewhat resemble psychometry experiment in which you touch an object and see the objects past just by this contact. In retrocognitive dreams the dreamer has no chioce of direction. The dream is unexpected and does not require the pysical presence of the dream in that location.
The clarity of an ESP dream and strong remembrance when waking set it apart from symbolical and pychological interpretation.

Out Of Body Experiences (Astral Projection)
Astral travel consists of projecting the inner body or etheric self from the physical body. This can occur during sleep and waking conditions (momentary displacement). Usually a projection of any length are nearly always part of a dream state. The sleeper travels various distances from that to the ceiling, to other side of the continent and remain connected to the body by a silver cord which is not always seen.
It can occur in two ways. willingly projecting the inner self to a predetermined place. Involuntary travel during sleep. Most things are remembered upon waking with the same intense and clear view of a psychic dream. They are the opposite of a prophectic dream but of that of ESP. You observe yourself and remember what you have seen and your experience. There is something this has that no other psychic dream is capable of observing the inner self by outside observation usually while fully awake. It is hard to distinguish it from an ordinary dream because the dream may not always remember his/her travel movements.
Common physical and emotional effects of astral projection.
feeling of extreme fatigue when waking even though you slept more hours than usual.
sense of falling, spinning usually with a fear of falling. Physical reaction to the step down of vibrations from the very fast astral projection speed to that of the body as you re enter.
recollection of having gone through solid wall, seeing one's own body below, usually at the beginning.Feeling of drifting away, sometimes lightening speed across landscape, temp. discomfort like chills, moisture or heat.Might even see the silver cord.Seeing people or scenes but not being able to make vioce contact.Visual contact has been noted.
They occur many times during operations when you've been anesthetized.
There are plenty of sites online that will tell you how to astral project...........

Survival Dreams
No these dreams are not about your survival but about an indivdual who past on.There are dreams that involve dead people. Some people can interact with the presence of a dead relative or friend in the dream state but the characteristics of such material are different from true survival dreams.
In the psychic type survival dream communication is clear and concise and there is usually a message attached which becomes clear only after the dream and might not mean anything to the dream but for a specific individual.
It is easier for discarnates to reach people in the physical dimension while they are asleep. This type of psychic dream is strongly motivated, there is a purpose. These types of dreams should not be dismissed they hold a purpose, it is very important to understand that.
They give advance information. Sometimes these dreams are to let you know there is another dimension, other plane. The figure will not look shadowy or like light but a really clear human form.

Reincarnation Dreams
Recurrent dreams are usually very colorful and puzzling to the dreamer. Not all dreams are precise in fact they can be partial dreams, hazy and frustrating. They leave you feeling you have been given a glance of your past. Reincarnation dreams are dreams in which an indivual sees him/herself going through actions in a place which they are not familiar with in conscious state.
Reincarnation dreams have a habit in coming in series usually they are usually the same dream over and over but some will give further information in bits and pieces. You don't have to be psychic to have this time of dream. You feel restless and a compulsion to do something about the dream.
You look different yet you know this is you and it is to you all things happen. There is only one other dream where you are a partipant and that's prophectic dreams. And in that dream you appear as your present self. In reincarnation dreams you will not look like you do now.
Psychiatrists will dismiss such dreams as fantasies, wish-fulfillment dreams.Reincarnation dreams come to some people at different times in their lives, but most people never have them. These dreams come when a previous life has been cut short or by tragic means and this dream is to influence your present life conduct. Some deja vu which is more involved and contains precise and detailed information about places and situations the person is not familiar with is due to reincarnation memories. If you have knowledge of a place ex Egypt and you have knowledge of Egyptology then we have to ask are you having this type of dream caused by conscious knowledge.
Not all reincarnation dreams are defined with a beginning, middle and ending. Ans occasionally the present life can be intermingled with reincarnation dreams it confusing.Dreams shared by more than one person are even more rare than having a reincarnation dream. It causes us to ask if these people were together in a previous life ?
Dreams dealing with the transitional period or the very moment of coming back are extremely rare. Perhaps this is because according to karmic law that is one part of the experience one is not suppose to remember. There is said to be a" well of forgetfulness" in which the water accomplishes this. Many things can trigger a memory of another life a place, person, smell even.
There is another part to reincarnation dreams called fear dreams. They deal with how a person past on. Sometime the anxiety ceases when a certain age is reached and the dreams stop. In this type the manner of death is extremely violent and remembered stronger than the rest of the dream.

This is an area where you will get a lot of different answers. When dreaming you want to find out what that person's emotional state is. Is there physical discomfort or emotional turmoil? Because these both have a great affect on how one dreams. I will list a few Dream Symbols here:
Accidents: When you dream of an accident happening to you, it could be a warning dream but accident dreams can also indicate fear of accidents where it causes you anxiety like a fear that your not a good driver, fear that crossing the street is dangerous even a fear that your not in control over one's movement.
So many different meaning for one's dreams you figure it out by asking the 5 W's and looking at all dream types. Is there a feeling of urgency with the dream or is there just a really strong fear or anixety ?
Animals speaking: Since animals don't really talk, it's an unexpressed feeling about such animals. In most cases the dream represents an opinon to be expressed.
Dead people: Some believe it to be a death warning like blackbirds. If it doesn't fall under a survival dream it would indicate a symbolic need to link back with them.
Falling from heights: We know this to be a sign of an out of body experience dream but falling from heights can also mean fear of heights, unable to reach a goal, fear of stumbling at the last minute when reaching for higher goals.
Symbolic Dreams really has to do with what you believe. If you are truely psychic in some way it will be an inner feeling of that dream having that meaning. If your not receptive of psychic dreams you may just have a lot of symbolic dreams which meanings can really help you in your life, show you your fears and anxieties and guide you through them.

Take a look at the Dream symbols I just talked about. I'd like you to look up those same dream symbols in a Dream Dictionary and post in the assignment thread the meaning you found for them. Chances are we will all have a different meaning.
Accidents
Animals talking
Dead people
Falling from heights

List The 7 Different Types Of Dreams?
I had a dream one night that my child ran out into the street. I was looking out of my second story house kitchen window and when I saw this I realized her father wasn't watching her. I ran down the stairs and out the front door which all happened in slow motion. When I got outside she had been caught up by her clothes to the side of the vehicle and was dragged down the road, the driver never knew she was there. I awoke crying streams of tears and I watched her for two weeks every second she was outside. What Type Of Dream Was This? Comment( The event took place during the third week but not to my child)
