Does anyone know of any goddesses of the moon?
I already know and acknowlege Artemis as an aspect of the moon goddess, but I'm not aware of any other cultures who name the moon goddess.
I feel a definate connection to the moon goddess and would like to know all of her names so that I can come to know her better.

oh thank you, I love getting to know every aspect of the moon, dark to light, new to full, everything about it is exciting and energising as it is mysterious.

The Roman numen Luna and the post-Medieval Diana are "moon goddesses."

Besides Artemis, Selene is also associated with the moon. She had a lot of lovers, including Zeus, Pan and Endymion. Here's some info on her.

Also, on this forum, use the search to check out moon deities. There's been a few threads on the subject.

i think there were a couple of egyptian goddesses associated with the moon, but no one was strickly named as the moon, except possibly A'ha, but he's a God, and you have a handful of others who have lunar aspects including Aset, Djehuti (God), Bast or Hathor, possibly, and i can't remember the names of any others. hope that helps.
bright blessings,

I looked up Moon Goddess at the mythical search site and the list seems almost endless. I think thus far I feel a special connection with Selene, Hekate, and Artemis. They just seem like a very balanced group, and they speak to me much louder than the others. As for gods I associate the sun with the male aspect. So I"ll probably look up that to complete my search. Thank you all for being so helpful and supportive.

Actually I had a dream last night. I dreamt that something bad was going to happen so I began to pray and gather energy, while doing this I was drawing, specifically Selene and Hekate. I was calling to them to help me out. I could feel Artemis in the back of my mind, but I almost got the impression that she was letting the other goddesses come forward first. As if the other goddesses were more senior, or more powerful and would be upset if she interfered. It might just have been been that I was thinking of that when I went to sleep, but it felt very comfortable and right. I think I've found my goddesses, thanks to all of you who've helped me.

Arianrhod litterally means Silver-wheel. We see her as the moon itself. Just to show different views :damnpc:

When I took the goddess quiz I came up as Arianrhod, I found that interesting. I might look into her more as I travel down my path.
