Now I know that meditation is used to still the mind and give it a reast but it can also be used to find the answers to things. What about repeating affirmations or things you wish to change about yourself in your meditation. Can't that work. For example say you want to repeat while meditating, be less clumsy or be more attentative... things to train yourself to do or not do. How would that work?

Just repeat the mantra or affirmation over and over again softly for the duration of your meditation.

Can you tell me how it actually works by repeating something to help you change yourself? I need to get some meditation books.

when you get into a deep meditative state, your subconcious, which can more easily affect change than your concious mind, is closer to the surface, and therefore more impressionable. so repetitive mantras, affirmations, and spells done in this state are more effective.

just get deep into meditation, repeat your affirmation or mantra, or even a poetic little spell to achieve the change you'd like, and focus on that the result of that change, as if it were already accomplished. feel what it feels like to have achieved your wish, emotionally and physically, etc... do more than simply visualize it, see it, taste it, hear it, feel it, use all your senses if possible, all the while still chanting your mantra or affirmation. do this for as long as you feel is necessary, then count yourself up or whatever method you use to get back to normal conciousness. hope that helps...

Thanks I will do this. I guess its a dumb question to ask how long it takes for your desire to take effect, I assume results may vary. LOL
