Not possible. Hyenas are related to Civits. Coyotes are related to Wolves. The two aren't even in the same FAMILY.

..not to mention this has already been discussed, they've already caught the critter, and determined it's a red fox with mange.

My mistake, Hyenas are not in the same family as Civets (although they are more closely related to Civets than Dogs). Hyenas have their own entire family, Hyaenidae.
