Help Me

I new and i need some symple spells 2 help me start off

Welcome to the board and Merry Meet. I personally feel that the best spells are ones you create on your own. If you haven't done anything I'd start simply. By yourself, in a quiet dark room, close your eyes and try and visualize things. Start simple, try to see a circle. Try and change the color or size. When you can do simple things like that-different shapes, light a candle. Stare at the candle and then close your eyes and visualize the flame growing taller and shorter. I think simple things like this are better to master before you start doing spells. You need visualization for spells. Good luck!

Hi Joe & welcome to Mysticwicks! Affirmations can be simple spells that will be helpful. You can pick something that you can repeat all day long.

Spellcasting isn't part of the Tradition I follow. Spellcasting isn't what is important, or at least, imho, it shouldn't be. Your focus should be the core tenets of the Path you desire to follow. The rest is just ornamental.

Along with that, I usually suggest ethics and history of the religion. BTW, what religion are you? Have you decided what you believe in? How long have you been at this?

Thanks 2 everyone who replyed. And still please keep it up! To all those who said i should Learn the religion, i DID look in to it before i asked 4 spells and i know the basic rules. but i dont wanna spend all my time learning the history just 2 find out im not good at spells or they dont work. (not that i think they wont)
I have no religion as sutch, cos i think they are all ways to control people. Keep posting those replies!

Hi Joe,

Nice to meet ya!

I think I am still more of a researcher than a spell-caster, but when I do practice spell-casting I use intuition to choose the methodology of the activity, based on the research I've done.

When I was 15, 16, 17 or so, I tried working spells but I know now I didn't have enough background knowledge to make much happen - due to lack of a 'significant WILL' ... But I'm sure thats not true true of everyone. We all progress at our own pace and according to our own destiny (thats kind of my my theory).

Keep searching through the threads and watch this thread, I'm sure someone will come thru with a simple spell or two for you.

One must learn to walk before trying to run a 100 meter sprint. Even the simplest of spells can be dangerous if done without thinking the spell through. Once harm has been caused, there would need to be some backpeddling - like putting on your seatbelt AFTER crashing the car.

Right now, I would suggest learning patience and more about your path.

I agree completely. And to add, spells are the dessert you have with your main meal - and if you eat too much dessert without finishing your meals you're going to get sick very quickly. Once you've spent some time digesting your meal the dessert will go down much better; dessert is meant to supplement your meal, not replace or come before it.

(ok I think I beat that analogy like a dead horse) :)

I'm also new to the path but I haven't done any real so called spells. I read all I can and my beliefs are from the heart and soul and that fulfills me spiritually and when the time comes the spells will come when the Goddess feels the time is right.

Well, unfortunatly your spells, wether you get them off some site on the net or make them on your own, will never walk properly until you've learned all there is about spellwork... that is everything about different types of correspondences, and also for it to work well, you'll need some experiences in rituals, so you'd probably need to learn lots about that as well... Be patient, study study study, and practise, practise... And remember magick is slow, there is no need for any hurry.

Ok ok everyone i get in learn, throry, work, read. I GET THE PICTURE. all i want is some SPELLS so if u dont have them dont tell me 2 learn. i AM learning and im saveing up 4 books. So unless you have spells to give me dont bother!

I think that is the point everyone is trying to make. I have lots of spells! Do I give them out to people...when they just come up and ask for them...no way.

How am I to know what you would do with them?

You are just getting into things...why not give some background of what your belief structure is...what Path you follow? That kind of thing...

Of course..there is always the Magick forum as well.

Give out spells to someone we don't know? Not a good idea. Then it becomes not only your karmic butt that can get kicked, but ours as well for helping you. Not a risk a lot of people are taking. If you *have* learned stuff, why not stay here awhile and post your beliefs and what you've learned, discuss and prove you have learned, *then* ask people for help with a spell.
