Near where I work is a small little mall with a turnaround in the driveway. They have tons & tons of beautiful wildrose bushes growing there. I noticed yesterday that the bushes were just covered with beautiful firm, red rosehips! :D This morning, I went there & asked the security if I could pick them. They told me I could. I managed to pick through 2 bushes & got about 4 pounds of rosehips. I'm going to have to go back again tomorrow. It'll probably take me all week to pick pick those rosehips.
The cool thing was as I was picking, people were coming up & asking about what I was doing. No one knew that these were rosehips, let alone, what to do with them. It was so neat to share conversations like that with strangers. The best was the elder chinese lady who saw me from her apartment. She came down to talk to me. She didn't speak a word of English & my chinese was really, really rusty. We managed to have a very nice conversation & she helped me pick. After, I sprinkled some herbs I brought with me to say thank you to the roses & the Goddess. The lady bowed & we parted. It was a great way to start the day! :sunny:
