What was your first spell?

I would like to try my first spell. I was thinking of doing a love spell for a good friend of mine. She has had a hard time finding someone to spend time with. I would like to make her more receptive to love and relationships. Does anyone have a standard love spell that I can take a look at and perhaps edit to fit my need?

ill be honest, the first spell i cast was on my shoulder after i had a massive breakdown and scratched till i bled. it was more of a healing spell btw. :)

my first spell -- technically, the first spell was one i watched, as one of my friends charged a silver ring of mine with protection. personal;ly, the first spell i did was one to get my grandparents and this other woman, one of my old religion teachers at school, to stop hassing me about my religion and to make them more receptive to accepting me for who i am. it seemed to have worked, cos the teacher stopped hassing my dad about it (cos he's working at my old school), and my grandparents seem to have accepted it, though if they knew i'd been to church the last three weeks in a row, they'd have a fit. I've only been so i can meet with others to plan this wedding, i haven't suddenly changed religions on you.

As I recall, I wound up running home covered in mud, scared
silly. Whether it worked, or whether my imagination got the
better of me, I can't say. However, at that age, I doubt there's
much practical difference.

I have yet to attempt my first spell, but when I do, it probably won't be anything nearly as spectacular as evoking a roaming swamp spirit. :hahugh:

Cool! If only I'd had the same imagination...

My first spell was a love spell. Although I never cast it on anyone in particular, the result was terrible. What I really needed was to sort my life out; and for a time I regretted everything. But it got me where I am today, for better or worse. At the time, what I ended up with was a sad obsession with someone who was really in love with someone else and just using me...And I let him. And then after meeting him again years later, I can only say: "What the hell was I thinking!?" :lol:

My experience of love spells has led me to conclude that it wasn't love I really needed, it was a lot more self-esteem and self-confidence. And to get over the idea that magic would solve all my problems...Those were my issues, but what I'm trying to say is perhaps you should consider your friend's issues and how they might affect his or her's chances in the love department. Is a boyfriend or girlfriend what they really need? Or will it "boost their confidence", and things like that.

Perhaps any help for your friend would be better focused on working on the reasons why he/she finds it hard to find love. There might be more mundane options you could work on together, or you might consider other magical alternatives, like helping to boost their confidence maybe. Things like that.

There are also some ethical considerations, especially if you're going to cast it for your friend without them knowing, but it depends on your own personal beliefs. Certain magical traditions believe that messing with someone else's freewill is a bit of a no-no. Not all do, of course, but it might be something to think about.

With your friends' knowledge, and even involvement in the matter, if (and that is an "if") it all ends badly, how responsible are you going to be? Is your friend the type of person who's going to blame you? That could end up making a whole big mess of the situation. Those are things I'd think about, anyway...
