how often do you purchase toiletry products out of necessity? eg; shampoo, toothpaste, pit-stick, etc
i don't mean those frivolous purchases when you jsut happen to see a deal and don't really need the product just yet ..
I am just trying to guage how much of "necessary" shopping is done through impulse buying and how much is out of need if you know what i mean.

I rarely impulse buy anything. I am on a tight budget!!!!
I buy what I need when I need for the post part. An un-need is a treat!
We have a family of 4 and need toiletries every 2-3 weeks.

Meh. Depends on how many use the shampoo, and how long your hair is. My husband and I have pretty long hair, and we go through a bottle every 2-3 months. A bottle apiece, that is. We use different brands.

Not at all. I too generally don't impulse buy, plus I buy larger amounts as Sam's (cheaper). I only use as much shampoo (and such) as I need, and keep my budget planned an on track. It's nice to have a growing savings and not to have money problems!

Hmmm depends on what it is....shampoo once every 2-3 months, deodarant once a month, toothpaste once every 2 months. There's been one impluse buy for me and it was shampoo. They had the shampoo I was using at the time marked down 50% so I bought 2 bottles!

I'm bad too. I am the queen of impulse buying. My husband says I'm such a sucker....I believe anything on the label. If it's pretty....smells nice, or will look good on my tub, I'll buy it  And makeup??? God's...I'm a makeup junkie :hehehehe:

Naw, I don't think so- not if only 1 person uses it, and it depends how long your hair is.
I have hair down to my butt, plus my boyfriend and daughter, (my son's hair is still like peach fuzz) and we have to buy a new bottle of shampoo every 2-3 months.
A four pack of Zest is about the same, I think, I'm not too sure.
But we go through a 100oz bottle of laundry detergant a week, give or take.

Ok, for 3 people in a house (me, my bf and our roommate) and a 4th who is only here during his college breaks... we do pretty well on toiletries(sp) A bottle of bodywash lasts 2 months, shampoo 1-2 months (depending on when I cut my hair) conditioner, every month it seems, we have a stock pile of bar soap for just in case and house guests. We got smart with toilet paper and started buying the HUGE packs.

I'm a tightwad, and proud of it!! I never impulse buy, I stockpile when things go on sale, I take my calculator everywhere, and figure out prices down to the penny....as such, sometimes I will buy toiletries 3 times a month, but then, when there are no sales we don't buy, and sometimes, that can be 6-8 months....last year, I bought shampoo twice, deodorant once, and toilet paper three times, however, when I buy things in mega-bulk, I also have room to store them out of sight...I find that when my family *knows* there is an abundance of something, they use it faster, so I have built in cupboards and cabinets for storage of this kind.

I have waist length hair so shampoo and conditioner are a every 3 weeks to a month thing.
Deoderant monthly.
Body Wash Monthly
Toothpaste...big tube 2 months
Shaving cream/skintament every 2 months
But I tend to stock up on items.....and I am notorious for impulse buying toiletries....my bathroom tends to stay over run with them.

I don't impulse buy, never have the extra cash to do fun things like that. I pretty much go shopping a couple times a month and buy whatevers about to run out.

Shampoo, 2 months.
Body wash, 1 month.
Deodorant, 1 month.
Toilet paper, 9 roll pack, 2 months.
With the exception of toilet paper (can't believe anyone hasn't mentioned that yet) I try to choose a different brand every time.
Toilet paper, it is Charmin Ultra, and never will be anything but.

Shampoo usually lasts a couple of months... I wash my hair every other day. Kevin doens't have enough hair to use shampoo.. he uses soap I think... but I'd prefer him to use shampoo on his fuzz.
pit stick... I don't know.. I always have several tubes of it in the bedroom and bathroom.. so ???
toothpaste... coupla months.? I never really paid attention.
soap lasts a long time..
Our water is very very soft so it doesn't take much to work up a lather... so it lasts a long time.

See I live near Dollar Trees and stores like that where you can get name brand items for next to nothing....and some pretty neat off brand things for Cheap. And things are always going on sale....like 70 percent off at regular stores and sometimes Sally's and so on...so I end up impulse buying things of a Hygenic oriented nature and stocking up. Now other items get put on tight budget.....but I always splurge a bit on hygiene supplies. Can't help it.

Everything as needed. I never seem to be able to keep a regular schedule of toiletry maintenance with my kiddoes. Especially since my youngest just discovered how to flush an entire roll of toilet paper at one time....

I buy shampoo eery month or so... whenever i run out... I am picky about my shampoo... I use Garnier Fructisse as its the only stuff that has really worked on my hair. I buy deodorant every two months or so... I buy the larger size as its cheaper and i don't run out as quickly... i rarely buy toiletries on impulse... other stuff i buy all the time when i don't need it.

I buy so infrequently that I can't even remember! Shampoo I think we generally buy 2 maybe three times a year (depends on what brand I buy). Soap, a three pack lasts us about 3 months maybe. Toothpaste is about the same, unless I buy the big tube which lasts almost forever.
