She went to the doc-- he scraped some tissue, put a patch on her and told her not to open her eyes or get out of bed for three days. She's in SO much pain; anyone know anything that could help? Nothing that could interact with her drops--- just maybe some scent that could relax her, that sort of thing?
Thanks in advance.

So sorry to hear about your Mom Loopy!!!!!
I know when I need to relax, headache, cramps, every day stress. I light my favorite lavendar candles. It may help your Mom relax some and get some rest.
I hope she feels better real soon!!!! :heartthro :heartthro

I'm sorry about your mom too loopy :-( I don't know of anything safe to put onher eye, other than whatever the doc gave her. But I agree that lavendar is relaxing. Also a dimly lit room might help. at least it does for me.
I hope she feels better soon

is a wonderful herbal relaxant .....and mild pain reliever.......
and if there is NO reason such as an allergy or interference with the eye drops , which are most likely Antibiotic drops Ibuprofen isnt a bad pain reliever BUT Call the Doctor and ask what pain reliever would be best.
Ibuprofen is a Non-steroidal anti-infammatory and also a smooth muscle relaxant, so it would help with the pain and inflammation and keep the swelling down to which adds to the pain.
ASK the doctor first tho OK?

I have no suggestions except maybe a nice warm cup of tea. Poor thing.
So sorry to hear about your mom Loopy. I am sending warm thoughts her way.

Cyber hugs to your mom. I had a similar problem with my eye. My contact stuck to my eyeball and killed the cornea cells. Not only could I not see through this horrible milky haze, the pain was just about unbearable. And I had two kids, no drugs. This was just as bad.
I wish I could remember what i took, it was two years ago and I only remember how much it hurt.
I think some soothing music, I like ocean sounds, and a nice lavender candle would be nice. Please tell her I am thinking of her.

Hi Loopy, sorry to hear about your mom's eye. Lavender oil in an oil difussor would be a great relaxant. Sometimes lavender candles do not have real lavender in them...they may use synthetic lavender scent. So they would have no theraputic value except they do smell nice. :) You can try burning a regular candle & as the wax melt around the wick, drop a couple of drops of lavender oil onto the melted wax. Be careful not to drop the oil on the flame.
Another nice soothing thing for the eyes is a cold, wet tea bag. But as Swannie said, check with the doc to make sure that it's ok first. Hope she feels better soon.
Oh, as you drop the oil onto the candle, you can say a little spell to enchance the comfort for your mom.

Thanks Wildchild. :) She has to wear a bandage over her eye til Saturday, so no tea bags yet, but I'll see if it's okay to try it after it comes off. :)

Hope--thank you. :)
She hates tea-- but she lives on instant cappuchino, so I keep 'em comin'. ;):D
