I just found out that my Dad has Lyme's disease. He will be on tetracycline (I think) for while. Do any of you know of some herbs that might help in addition to the antibiotic?

I am guessing on immune system stimulators...Garlic? Echinacea?

Thanks.
Chris

Hi Chris!

How is your dad doing? In the Green Pharmacy by James Duke has a section on Lymes disease. He recomended garlic & echinecea as well as a few other herbs. The garlic & echinecea were his top two herbs. He also listed mountain mint, licorice, thyme, hops, oregano, & rosemary. Duke did suggest that he may have had Lymes disease & have taken garlic & echinecea with his antibiotics.

He seems to be doing ok, thanks very much for asking! :)

He is typical male in that he doesn't ask the doctors a thing about treatment. And he is on the older side (65) and has some other minor health issues. But I'll tell ya, he does good! He walks or jogs several miles almost every day, does some light weight lifting, eats very healthy.

I'll tell him about the garlic and echinacea. I had a feeling they would help, but wasn't 100% sure. I'm glad my instincts are getting a bit better.

Take care!

Chris
