I keep having dreams of these big mean, nasty bears. It's not a reoccurring dream, they're always different, but I'm always in the house and they're always relentlessly trying to get in. It'd be different, I think, if I had a fear of them. I've only seen a few of them in my life, and I know enough about them to realize that they're nothing to be afraid of. But I've had these dreams several times throughout my life.
Can anyone explain what this could mean?

I have recurring dreams of bears as well. Here is a link to a post of mine from a while ago. http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=3851
I still dream of them, even now. Thanks for bringing this up- apparently the issues still need to be worked on in my case. LOL!
If you find anything else out, I'd love to hear it.

I have had scary dreams about bears and a friend of mine has them too..very similar to yours. According to "A Witches Book of Dreams" by Karri Allrich " A multifaceted symbol, a bear is about earth medicine, knowledge or herbs and roots, a maternal instinct and fierce protection. Also, in hibernation, the bear's message is to go within and find stillness and solitude. We sometimes need a time of hibernation to nurture our weary spirit." there is another part of this book that talks about a woman's dream that is very similar to yours-" Your house is a place of refuge, symbolic of her structured safety. You might say this is her comfort zone.Suddenly a bear arrives at the scene. Threatening, wild, pacing, trying to get in, it tries to break through the structure, into her realm of safety. An undomesticated animal breaking into her very domesticated structure of self. she feels afraid." She also says that " The bear is a mythical symbol of great inner strength, patience, protective mother love, and earth energy."

Yes I agree that the bear is great inner strength.
Maybe you are trying to overcome some insecurities. The bear is awakening you to your strengths!

Wow. That makes me just a little concerned about my last dream, then. A few nights ago. I had a dream that I looked out the window, and in the frount yard, there was this huge brown bear. It was probably 3x their actual size, but it was lying there dead in a such a crude fasion that I couldn't take my eyes off it.
It's strange. I've only had these dreams while in the house that I grew up with my parents.
Now, years have passed, my husband and I lost our home and everything we own, and I come back here with my two little girls and I have this dream. There is nothing comfortable or homey about my parents house. Calling it hell would be putting it nicely. I guess it makes sense the bear would be dead. :geez:
