wood spirits?

i was wondering what wood spirits are. not just faries and nymphs but like faces in trees and that stuff.

My friend sees little people that remind him of the leprechan variety.

Some of the Cherokees believe in "little people". There are a lot of stories about the little people playing with children. This is recent - not old folk tales.

I remember a little 4 year old girl kept pointing above my head and around us - smiling and saying "butterfly". It was winter - no butterflies....
I am not sure if this was a wood spirit or an angel she was seeing, but it was cool.

I personally see little lights that are not fireflys. I know this because I go to the mountains in the dead of winter and see them - no BUGS that time of year.

If only we had names for all the other beings that exist in other planes or that very shortly appear in our plane.... :)
