I look forward to Autumn all year long. Our weather here in Indiana has been very Fallish this late summer (not today, though). Tomorrow it is supposed to be 73, and last week it was in the 60's during the day. I feel so GOOD with that weather. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday because I love the flavor of it. When I have a daughter, I will name her Autumn!
Some words:
Pumpkins/ jackolanterns (especially the smell when you carve them and cook the seeds!)
colorful leaves
smell of fallen leaves
scarecrows
multi colored corn
the Northern Lights (very active in October)
Halloween!!!
crisp air
aroma of a fireplace in sweet cool air
an autumn sky-- clear blue with fluffy clouds over a midwest corn field
OR that darker yet awesome fall sky that I love
cider
carmel apples!!!
baking
good soup
decorations for the yard (I start in September!)
skeletons, ghosts and all things spooky
warm comfort food
I could go on and on...
BIG SWEATERS
hay rides
I LOVE FALL :) Thanks for asking this question...
I am new to Wicca, reading a lot and studying right now. I have a new respect for Samhein now, and I will perform my first rituals to thank God and Goddess this Autumn.
Bye :)

I LOVE autumn, and Keats nailed it for me in his "Ode to Autumn":
SEASON of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease;
For Summer has o'erbrimm'd their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drowsed with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twinèd flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cyder-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings, hours by hours.
Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,—
While barrèd clouds bloom the soft-dying day
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river-sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.

Most of the words that you all wrote would make me think of fall also. But what really gets me thinking of this season is food. Right about now, I start craving soups, muffins, lasanga, apple crisps all of the stuff I couldn't put in the oven during the summer. Too bad we still have about one more month of warm and humid weather.

The things that mean autumn to me aren't words so much as experiences.
The smell on one particular August morning when you wake up and the world is dewy and smells of blackberries.
Rain on the windows on a dark evening.
A flock of starlings sweeping over your head at dusk.
Leaves falling in sunlight.
Starlight on the first frosty night
