My zodiac element is water. I noticed that strange things happen to me with it, and with the element of earth. I always know what directon the ocean is in, and the best route, which is not always the closest. I can't drink alot of water, and i get swimmers ear almost everytime i m in a pool, and i am always the one to get infected by bacteria in ocean water ... never fails to happen. The only effect earth has had one me is that I ate yew berries as a favortie childhood snack and am alive, and i thought yew to be poisonous. Yew is sorta like an evergreen with red berries, right? Questions? Comments?

My Element is water too. And I love the water completely. Just the sound of water is very soothing to me. But it is also linked to my phobias. I don't like to cross bridges where you can see the water close underneath. And I have a terrible fear of my car sinking in water and drowning me. Throw in the fear of me not being able to get the kids out of their car seats, and I am a basket case on those bridges :)
Seems like you are more physically affected, I am more emotional/mentally affected.

And I'm not effected at all!!! haha! ;)
Seriously though, I'm a water sign too. In fact I have a double water. I am Sun Sign - Cancer, Moon Sign- Scorpio and my Rising Sign is Taurus (throw in a little earthiness there).
I too love water, it's incredibly soothing to me. I love to be in it, I go into withdrawl from it sometimes I think. The ocean is my biggest friend (which is why I miss it so much now I'm not near it) and I instinctively know how to swim with it so not to get into any danger with it.
I don't seem to have any troubles overdosing on it when it comes to drinking or anything, and I have no phobias with it. In fact, I'd rather deal with a water disaster than anything else I think :)
The only thing I find, is sometimes I go through "anti-water" stages. Happens every now and then that I can't face the THOUGHT of getting in a bath, or under the running water of a shower. I often feel like I'm drowning if I take a shower during this time and have to keep my usually very LONG showers, very short. I don't know why it happens, but it does.
That's all I can think of. Interesting topic?
So are there any non-waters out there? haha
:) Lilu

Just because your sun sign is a certain element, that doesn't mean you personally are that element. I was born in February, but my personal element is water-of-fire ~ not Air.

I have no idea what element is "mine." I always loved the water, even though I'm a really terrible swimmer, and I love the rain... I also can sit outside under the sun for hours (even though I'll burn! ) and I love candle flames and campfires... Coincidentally, my sun sign's is fire, and my ascendant's is water, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it... come to think of it, I also love the wind and to roll around in mud.
Ack! How are we supposed to choose?!
Concerning weird things happening, I can't think of anything offhand.
I do find it interesting that my two zodiac elements are the two I'm most fascinated by, and most afraid of, but I guess that's only natural-- to have a healthy respect for the elements.

I'm a double capricorn (both sun and moon). The only thing noticed is that I'm so typical capricorn it's eerie. I feel most comfortable in the woods sitting on the ground surrounded by trees, but then again I think that's a Pagan thing more then it's an earth thing :)
Fiance's sun is in capricorn, moon is in virgo. Not surprising either. He's also a double earth and very capricorn but the virgo influences really kick in there (extreme perfectionist). As far as elements he does work with them a bit in his karate classes but he seems very familiar with fire instead of earth (ie. he can use very effectively and it comes easier). Less to do with astrology and more to do with his personality I think.

I have to apologise for this. Now that I read it again, it seems that i am saying I am right and Mairwen is wrong ... which she isn't. Let me rephrase it:
Very true. I am a fire child, at heart, and although the experiances I have had with it are not as physical, save for one, I do have them.
Your incite reminded me of an inceident in which i used fire to defend myself from someone, who was a pretty big :eek:hole.
Forasmuch, has anyone else had experiences with elements that are not in thier sun or moon signs?

I am an air sign as well but i am stronlg linked to earth i feel. I love fresh air but the smell of a camp fire stirs something inside me, a combination of excitment and contentment. I am spooked by hearing the wind howl, and it annoys me as well, but sometimes i find it fun too. God, i am very much ruled by my moods, i like certain things (and an extremly wide variety of things) depending on what mood i am in!!!! weird!

Well my most dominant element is air. Things that may be affected by that:
I have an amazing sense of smell (the sense related to air), even though I smoke. I am always the first to detect something by scent first.
I am extremely lightweight and flexible. Plus I can jump fairly high too.
Wind magick has always come extremely easy to me.
Sudden changes in temperature seriously affect me, usually making me very ill and mean. Air is the easiest of all the elements affected by temperature.
I'm extremely moody and my moods can change as quick as the direction of the wind itself.
It's not that interesting, but I seem to be able to direct my flow of breath a lot better than most, blowing out candles and such from distances further away than the average person can do.
I can usually sense weather changes before they occur.

im a libra ^_^ that means air...right?
anyway i kind of feel like i can talk to the wind, and it ansures....is that crazy?
anyway if im in a down mood and its hot a cool breas will come along or something, and if im just depressed or something a quick breas wil come along and then i'll talk to the wind (in my head of course) and it seems to ansure in a variety of streangths.
i also feel very close to fier (im a pyro ^_^) i love fire and im not sure if thats because air feeds fire or what but its prity neet, i dont think i have ever been burned by fire exept my fingernail in a church once when i was lighting a candle for my dad (creepy hu?)
and i also feel the same kindship with water that i do with air, not like just any kind of water, but at a lake or something the water calms me down, and i love to swim, and when it rains it seems like the water and air are trying to comfert me or something.
but thats about all my experiances with elemints, i try to respect them and i think they return the favor ^_^
...(any of that weird or what not?)

pretty much the same for me. certain scents which don't seem to bother other people give me migraines. i was shopping in a store which sold japanese pop culture items once and the vinyl fumes in there were so bad i had to step outside & wait for him to finish. the gas chamber exercise in basic was horrible. i couldn't see at all when i stepped out of there -- and that's just tear gas plus they use.
usually when i am doing any kind of ritual outdoors the wind will pick up a little bit. unfortunately this includes the ritual of melting shoe polish.

Well I'm an Air sign. If no one can guess. I have good sense of smell and well me and the wind are best friends. Usually when I'm outside there is always some kind of breeze around me. The wind is always stronger where ever I am. My chart is significantly air and water. I'm also ruled by my moods but I think that is due to my Cancer moon.

I'm a sun and moon leo. I adore fire. I can't resist playing with a candle flame. Waving a hand or finger through, or letting the wax from a candle drip in my hand. I can NOT leave a candle alone. I however, do not cook (as in home cooking) I'm highly prone to starting fires that way. NOT intentionally mind you, I'll just be cooking and.. FOOM! Nothin' big, well small enough to be blown out. During the winter I love to be in the basement by the fireplace, and rip old sears and jcpenny's magazines to shreds watching the pages burn green. (no I'm not a pyro)
I'm also a water-boar (chinese zodiac). I love to go swimming. The only time I hate fall/winter is when I can't go swimming cause it's too cold. I don't eat any type of seafood, rarely tuna. I will not swim in the ocean, however, as it itches worse than fleas. I also have a fear of dead fish, yet would grab a fish with my hand and fling it back in the water if I saw it suffering. (then procede to do my 'ickyness hissyfit' dance)

Both my Sun and Moon signs are Air (Aquarius and Gemini respectivly).......I love gentle breezes but howling winds scare me....... Fire on the other hand I LOVE FIRE...except for the fact that dinner isnt done until Im burnt...lol.....Fire embraces me ...I feel Fire like a warm hug. Water I love the rain but dislike to swim in it....Im the Biggest, 35 year old, kid in the world when it come to rain, off go the shoes and im out running in it like a 2 year old escaping mom..lol My favorite all all is Earth, just being outside is the greatest place all...I have a soft spot for laying on my stomach with my ear pressed to the ground, listening to what the Earth has to say.... ok enough of my ramblings now....I got lost in the elements there for a minute. I really don't know what my element is. I'm libra, air sign, to begin with, and I love flying and very high places (but I'm scared of medium or low high places). I love fires, candles, and watching things burn, but I'd rather be cold than hot. I love building things and working with my hands, essence of earth, and I love trees and feilds and caverns, but I am always had nightmares of being trapped underground. I love water, the sounds and smells, I loove to swim or sit and dangle my feet in the water, but since I almost drowned as a child (in the best heroic tradition) I have dreamt my death in water. in short, I don't know which element is prevalent in me. i feel like there oughtto be an affinity, but there's reasons against each. any ideas on how to find out?

i am fire. most of my chart is in fire as well. even my chinese chart. i definatly feel most comfortable with this element. i do have a firey nature as well. i have a temper, i am very passionate as well as other things, my eyes even change colors to suit these moods(from shades of yellow to red). one of the effects of my firey self is that i am not good with plants. i know alot of the mechanics in takeing care of them, but no matter how much i do for them they always die. my family owned a nursery so they thought that i would also be good with plants. oddly enough i dont like the sun. i hate day time. i prefer night (with a fire of corse) and i dont like the heat, or summer.

I think the other planets and other influences can have a big effect as well; i was born right at the beginning of Sagittarius but I've always felt affinity for water, and emotionally etc I certainly feel much more water-y; maybe it's because I've got Mercury and Venus in Scorpio which almost overrides the fire influence.

I'm an Aries and more drawn to fire than anything else. Water doesn't bug me much. i hate water on my face and i hate swimming pools. i love swimming in Rivers though. Go figure.
I'm much more content around fire. I don't think i have ever complained of being to hot. Water may be relaxing but a good old fashioned fire beats that for me.
