what kind of resources??
there's this for photo effects: http://www.good-tutorials.com/tutorials/2/0
a few here including the build-it-yourself-for-cheap photo studio: http://www.worth1000.com/tutorial.asp
and someone mentioned this one a few days ago: http://www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php
but i find the best way to get into photography is find a few photos that you like a lot and try to recreate them for your own personal benefit
like other forms of art, only you can define your style so experimenting and taking a zillion pictures is about the only way
if ya need any feedback on your photos let me know
i may not be a really great photographer (link to photos in signature), but i can give really great suggestions on how to improve photos, etc

COme on, Dru! Who are you talking to? Of course its digital. I orderer and Fujio S7000 (which is an SLR style digital camera, with all the manual goodies), along with a 2x titanium telephoto lens, various filter attachments, table tripod, standing tripod, etc.

Don't you have another two or three art media you can perfect until then?
