A WARNING: Stay away from 10,000 Dreams Interpreted by Gustav Miller. It is antiquated tripe.

Dreamer's Dictionary by Tom Corbett, Stearn Robinson
The Dream Book: Symbols for Self Understanding by Betty Bethards
1001 Dreams: An Illustrated Guide to Dreams and Their Meanings by Jack Altman
Note: I haven't yet read these, but I've looked into them a bit and they're on my 'to-be-purchased' list. The one by Ms. Bethards looks especially interesting, as it's not just a 'what does this symbol mean' book, but one that helps you understand your dreams better, and how to use them to make changes in your life.

On the same bent as Avalon mentioned about 10,000 Dreams Interpreted by Gustav Miller, if you have to pick up The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, do so for its sheer humor value. Both of them, as historical pieces, are interesting as attempts at the study of dreams 100 years ago, but fall short of actual understanding.

Can anyone tell me if the following book is worth getting?
Its: The Little Giant book of Dream Symbols by Klaus Vollmar.
I have not read this book but I'd like to say something here to everyone so it might help you.
There is no right or wrong dream book the question is finding the one that suits you. Ask yourself if your looking for one with a positive spin on dreams or one with more psychological indepth answers. It's best to not read just one but many of these books because they all have different answers and there really isn't a wrong answer. It's just a point of finding one that fit your way of thinking.
I myself don't use dreams books but it's not to say I haven't read them. I find it humores to read these books. My dream book is my own mind I let my psyche interpret my dreams.
Can can ask at a book store for dreams books with what your looking for they can do a search on words like psychology positive nature and find one that will fit your train of thought.
