The interview is simply a questionnaire to determine what types of situations you can best help with!

Thanks to both of you and so I dont post all over the guideline thread...at first I was thinking a solo type thing and that would be frighting but knowing that it is a unified effort for all and no one has to feel over whelmed puts the type of security behind it all that makes me believe this can prove to be a truely good thing. Team work definitaly can succeed because many minds bring more ideas than one. Helping each other is just as important as helping others. I love the entire consept and it makes me feel good.

Applause to Aine and Selene for grabbing the reigns and bringing this together!

I'm not sure where to put this, exactly, but I was feeling inspired tonight and decided to try my hand at making a banner for the program. I'm going to use it myself, but I wanted to offer it to anyone else who would like to include it in their sig. Maybe we could sticky it somewhere. And maybe MW could host the image so those without image storage could use it. And maybe others would like to try their hand at making a banner and we could offer a selection for people.

So everyone that makes one can use their own if they want and we can pick and choose. As for hosting... let me work on that. As some know I have been part of the counseling program since day one. I even played a small part in the formation of the group I think. To have a person to talk to in tough times can be a godsend. If for no other reason than to know someone else DOES care. In this day and age everyone needs a shoulder from time to time.

I would be remiss in my duties as both a minister and a caring human being if I neglected to include my name. I have said I would be here for any and everyone and that does not change....ever.

I Love you All. Some things never change. :flowers: And so I offer my services and what little wisdom my 47 years on this Earth and 30 years of peer counseling have given me, should anyone find the need.

But why is it that someone only has to be a member here for a month, as one of the guidelines for being a peer counselor? Wouldn't you better be able to review the personality (if you will) of a person, over say... a 6 month period of posting here?

We didn't want to exclude TOO many people who wanted to help, but we did want to see that they had been here a few weeks and had been at least fairly active (the 100 post criteria) so that someone looking for help would be more assured they were going to be around. THAT criteria can be re-evalutated if y'all want... none of what we've done has been set in stone. I just hope y'all don't make it six months because then I'd be excluded as I've only been here since June! lol

I would absolutely love to volunteer. I haven't been on Mystic Wicks for about a week or so and much has changed! It is wonderful. I meet all the requirements and I also plan to major in psychology and to further my career in some type of school conseling or teacher. I tried twice to sign up to be an online help volunteer on another site but too many people were offering and I wasn't needed. This sounds perfect to me and I will be avaliable at least once a week.

It helps to get things out in the open and most the time you can solve your own problem just by reading your own thoughts or in this case writing one of us here. I'm 34 so I fit the age. There's nothing better than having someone to talk to, not to tell you what to do, just to listen and offer advice and support. To help you through the bad times, because life ain't all roses is it.
