I've been looking for well known stores that cater to Pagan interest. I found one so far:
http://www.illuminations.com/
(NOTE: I am not a part of this store in any way)
If you see their website they even offer a nice, though very commerical, goddess candles, sacred space incence, ritual candles, etc...I know one should create their own but I'm talking about exceptance in the general public, a little literature on the religions. Do you know of any franchises like it? I am not talking about private small business but stores you find in malls.
I do know about several catologue stores but what I am after is an actural brick and mortar stores.

You have to be careful of what they are putting out there. I have been to this store, it really is neat and you just have to buy something, not cheap. I also recieve their catalog and was very concerned about their Goddess candles particularly the Oya one. OK heres the story:
A local HP was telling this story in class. She used to drive a car with a broken a/c in Texas. Well this is understandably intolerable, so she went to her friend who was more knowledgable about Paganism at the time and she said You need to invoke the goddess Oya, she's a goddess of wind. Invoke Oya and it will be fine. She gave her a picture she drew herself for the car. So she did and it was real great. It really worked and the breeze was fine. well at the same time her life was being turned upside down with her boyfriend and such. She eventually did her own research and found out Oya was a wind Goddess, she brings about the winds of change with hurricane force. She dumped the guy and realized after her research it was ment to happen for the better but I don't believe she invoked Oya again.
I feel for the people who use that candle and don't know what they are getting themselves into. I think this company may be tampering with things it shouldn't for a buck.
remember to do your research. :)

Interesting story about Oya SAHM, I hadn"t heard of her before.
Around this time last year I was very much being spoken to by Persephone, and so was reading all I could on her, doing meditations and so on, then Hecate started popping up in my dreams and things.
I actually started working with her a bit, not even thinking that a goddess of the crossroads would have such an effect on my life. Boy did she pack a punch! I found my entire life turned right around within weeks - taking a new direction, turned out for the better, but at the time you just never are sure.

Of course I live in England so I don't know how
much use this is but these days I can't walk into a
bookshop (yeah even the big chain, in fact especially
the big chains) withouth bumping into books, by Silver
Ravenmoon, Uncle Al, Starhawk et al.
Waterstones is a big brit book chain which usually
has a very large new agey section with all that sort of
stuff in.
A new one has just come to town called "Bookers" or
something like that which has a large book section
again and also sells tarot cards and runes. I totally agree
that these large books tores should be careful.
Booker sells copies of the Thoth tarot deck, not something
you want to be messing about with.
If I think of anymore I'll mention it.

Thanks for sharing. :)
That is the kind of real life experience I love learning about. For me it says alot more than what you can find in any book.

Research is always warranted before asking the presence and assistance of any diety.
I'll certainly keep in mind that story of how the winds of change affected your HP friend!
Oya of the Wind is a very powerful Orishan Goddess very much revered in by the spanish speaking people, Dominican and Puerto Rican, here in NYC who also worship Oshun of the Water.
She is the goddess of love and marriage and loves fans, mirrors and seashells. She is also the Goddess of gold and money.
I vacationed in the islands and heard of a woman whose small son had disappeared by the waters and thought to have been drowned.
The mother and her family sought the boy in the waters, diving over and over again in their search. Having no outcome, the mother prayed to Oshun, asking the goddess from one mother to another, to release her child. It is said the boy's body drifted upwards from the deep, returned to his mother so that their could be a proper burial.

I've been feeling drawn to Kali for some time now, and the focus of my life just seems to have shifted to learning to let go of things and learning about the darker parts of myself and my personality... quite a change from the Earth Mother figure (with a little dabbling with Aphrodite) I was working with before!
