as i said before my Pittbull sky is due to whelp any time now well. she i leaking milk all over she had a discharge yesterday mornign and is as hyper as ever. what kind of signs in a pitt other than breathing and temp drop \, and nesting should we look for with her cause to me she is not acting like a normal prego dog. the pups my roomates said were not moving today but they were last night. so i don't know im scared im trying to be calm we don't have the money for a vet and my roomates think im heartless for not wanting to take out rent money and spend it on her. im not trying to be mean im being realistic. is there a way to induce her at home that we could do. she is not showing anysigns of being in pain at all. im just at a loss

Patients hon. Dogs can take forever it seems. There is no need to worrie unless she is pushing for to long or she is actually becoming ill. I went through pg dogs and its very frustrating for the owner. She is probably close, perhaps hours to a few days away. The pup activity may appear stopped by often its just the way its seems because they are so crowed and the time may be coming near for labor. Odds are everything is fine.

Patients. :)

When my JackRussel had her litter, I went crazy with worrie. She got huge, went way past the average length of gestation and I was ready to panick. Then she had them..only 2! I was shocked. I thought she had to have a bunch. Smaller litters are usually carried longer. And her pups were quiet large and she did have a hard time but it still all came out just fine!!! There was a hour and 1/2 pause between the 2 pups, but that was actually fine as the first pup took a lot of pushing and was slow to get out but the second pup, after mom rested, took aonly one push and pop!!!

A retriever I had yrs ago was only like a few days past the average gestation. She had 5 pups and all went fine. She was nervous and panicky and I had to remove the babies as they were born, because she refused to lay down, but all was fine.

My old friends had cocker pups. With that mom, they didnt know when she got pg so it was all a guessing game. She had her pups quietly in a corner in the middle of the day and it wasnt untill after they were all born that they realised she had them. They had been outside as it was a nice summer day!

Theres so much variation with our fur friends that its not time to worrie unless there are obvious signs as I mentioned before in my first post.

I am always a worrier and it hard to not worry, I know. :)
