There is an Irish Goddess called The Morrigan. She is a dark Goddess, hence the Dark Moon is her strongest time of the month. She is the Irish Goddess of war, lust, prophacy, strength, death and night. She is the patroness of Witches. She is a triple Goddess, whos counterparts are known as Badb, Macha & Namhain. She is associated with Crows, Black Dogs as well as Horses. Her name from Irish is translated into - "Great Queen", and she's often refered to as "Queen Of Phantom", or "White Queen".
This is her in a nutshell.. For more about her, I suggest you check out this site - http://www.pantheon.org
You can search other dieties on this site as well.
Theres *A LOT* more to The Morrigan.
If you have any questions you're welcome to ask me :) I'm dedicated to The Morrigan so I have a pretty strong bond with her.

I hate to butt in on someone else's thread- but is there a God of the Dark Moon? That has always bothered me... even though the moon is seen more as a female symbol due to the 28 day cycle I do recall their being moon Gods in some cultures... hrm... research time, or if anyone knows anything...

What is a dark moon anyway? Is that when no moon is out?

Actualy the Dark Moon is the time that falls before the New Moon. They are not the same phase at all.

Well, now I definately think I got a sign from The Morrigan. Last night, I had a dream.. in my dream I was waking up for school, got dressed, and when I looked over to my window there were 5 black crows standing just outside..
So, in my dream I started asking myself what do crows mean in dreams (I usually lucid dream) and I started to panick thinking they meant something bad. I tried to make them leave but they wouldn't. They were rather peaceful looking though, they weren't squawking or anything, just staring at me.
I then woke up, for real this time, worried trying to figure out what the crows meant and suddenly remembered Morr told me The Morrigan was associated to crows.. everything happened as in my dream I was even wearing the same clothes. Everything except for the crows outside the window.
The only question I have now is.. why exactly 5 black crows?
