I suffer from self-centeredness and low self-esteem.

i used to be very self concious. Then I realized that I was so much better than everyone else, so now I'm a bit egotistical, but i don't show it often. You will be okay. My sympathies to you.

I suffer from low self-esteem and understand how difficult it can be. May you learn to appreciate and accept who you are and be proud of it.

I too suffer from low self esteem... Sometimes all you need is someone to talk to :)
Energy balloon, coming your way :boquet: (I'm left and center) XD (Don't worry, it's all GOOD energy!)

Being self centered may be a protection mechanism you use to cover for a low self esteem. recognise that nobody is perfect and everybody has faults and learn the difference between constructive critics to those that critique others out of some fault in their own personality.
O.K. I'm waxing philosophic so it's time to lie down now.

Open up and be a part of the world and energies around you, instead of secluding yourself on an imaginary peidestal. :hugz:

I know what you mean MerytMaihes, sometimes i feel I can be so self-absorbed, but at the same time despise myself.
The only advice I can give is try and take the good with the bad. If you feel an inner monologue with negative feelings coming on, have a soothing bath with candles and incense and music. Or go to the movies. Evertime you think you're going to give yourself a hard time, treat yourself. Trust me you deserve it!
And I like what Dreamingmystic said about being self-absorbed as a defence mechanism.
much energy being sent you way and remember to treat yourself! :hugz:

It seems that those two things often go together. What do you think you can do to work on it for yourself?

It is likelihood that my self-centeredness is a protection mechanism for low self-esteem. Thanks!
