I was wondering how long it took for your path to reveal itself to you, or did you just pick one out? I have been researching and reading and attending circles, but I don't have a "path" as yet. I have been trying to let the deities come and reveal themselves to me and assist me in choosing. I just wonder if it is necessary for me to actually have a path.

I don't have one particular path. I've got enough on my plate without having to choose one or another at the moment, but I don't see why it has to be a decision that one *must* make asap, ya know?

Hail and Welcome
No its not important to have a path,as most will tell you,its whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Pagan is a generic term...Thats what I use for myself or Heathen because I am drawn to the Anglo Saxon Culture,Gods and Ways .But I am also somewhat interested in some forms of Witchcraft, but to me witchcraft is a practice and Heathenry is a part of my beliefs and lifestyle.
So I would just say look around read and go with what draws you and you feel most comfortable doing.
There is plenty of info right on this forum.
Good luck and Welga!

Maybe it isn't that a Path is suddenly revealed, but rather by studying, learning, and *learning about yourself* the path suddenly becomes clearer... You may find that Deity may be pushing you towards specific studies. They may choose not to reveal themselves for a time; trust your intuition and have faith. Meanwhile, read about different deities, and listen to that voice that says "wow this one seems really interesting..."

For me, it was a year or more into studies when I finally connected the pieces and started finding Her.

Best of luck.

When searching out a path, my best advice is to just get started on what interests you. I've been a part of a wiccan coven, a druid fellowship, a small rune guild, magick orders ...blah blah blah. If I have discovered anything over the years, it's that everyone of them are very valid in their own ways. I find for myself, that a path up the blazing middle is much more important. I find that succumbing to the nuances unique to each path doesn't suit me.

Happy hunting,

I have just found my path...that of an Eclectic Witch. I don't fit into any one category such as Wiccan. I chose eclectic because aspects of so many different paths appeal to me.

I started by reading a lot of books about wicca and witchcraft. The more I read the more I find what I do or do NOT agree with. I will be reading and think, "Yes, that makes sense!" or "What on Earth are they talking about!?"

I also started by asking myself a few questions:
- Do you believe in the Goddess/God, multiple deities, a Divine energy, etc.
- Do you believe in the Wiccan Rede? (i.e., 3 fold law, karma, etc.)

Don't fret. Whether you find one specific path or many different ones, you are on the right track.

Sorry I missed seeing this yesterday Red. Some people NEVER choose, and that's okay. For some, it's all about the search. And even for those of us who have chosen or forged our own Path, they tend to expand or even change course at times, as we journey down them.

You say you've been attending circles and such... does this mean you've been primarily focused on Wicca? If so, you might want to look at some of the other established paths as maybe Wicca isn't where you're being led.
