ok. I was just talking on the phone with my dad, and he had said how he and his girlfriend were coming over for a visit. And I said "oh darn, this means I have to get dressed now." I have been lounging around all day in my pjs. And he said "Well, you're Pagan, aren't you?" and I was surprised in silence for a few moments, then I said "DAAD! Pagans don't go around skyclad ALL the time! I havn't even been to a skyclad ceremony yet!" and he made this kind of "yeah. . . ok" noise. . . and I said "Besides which, even if/when I do, I will only do it with people I trust, and only when I know what's going on. I do have common sense, trust me?"

:bad: I'd really like to know where dad's getting his info. . . he seems to have some funny ideas besides that. . .

So I offered that if he ever wanted to know anything, just to ask. If I knew the answer, I'd tell him and if not I could always find out. I just dono what his reaction really is. . . somedays he seems kewl with it, others he seems annoying. dad's confusing me

it sounds like he's been trying to read up on paganism and gotten the wrong books for your path, i'm not sure how to suggest you arrange it but i do think you and dad do need to talk to clear up a few misconceptions. good luck.

maybe he got some of the older books, liek the ones from the 50's. I don't know why, but i would guess these are a bit more, ummm, skycladdy. The modern books probably offer more opions.

as far as I know, he hasn't read any books. . . he said that it was just things he had picked up in the past. . . o.O; which makes me wonder about him. . .

8O I guess I read into things too much

no no! We should all be in these horribly occult-looking darkish velvet robes with huge hoods all standing in a circle looking like over-grown Jawas chanting something. :D

something like the beginning of micheal flatley's "lord of the dance"? then we need mike to come by and choreograph it for us?

i think it's more like having fun with the pre-conceived ideas of too many non-pagans about who we are and what we do, and do not do. no one intends malice toward puma's dad, she does, after all, love him even though he exasperates her at times. i know about that, i raised a daughter too.
