What do you dread the most when you do a reading? For me it is doubting myself.

I just started so right now it's not knowing what I'm doing. lol Besides that, I don't like seeing the Tower show up in the cards.

Yeah I can say that in the past when I did my first readings I felt the same way.

What do I dread most? hmmm......Getting absolutely no "vibe" off the cards, just sitting there staring at little piece of cardboard and not having a clue what any of it means!

I dread not being able to be objective and unbiased about my readings

It's sort of a combination between not getting any messages from the cards and self-doubt (which is brought about from having no messages coming from teh cards! )
It's a vicious circle.

I dread... basically everything already mentioned. I dread the idea that I have no idea what I'm doing and none of my readings are even remotely true.

But I'm still in the "just learning" stage. It's only been a few weeks, and I don't practice enough. Or whatever you choose to call it.

I HATE getting a spread where I get a mix of cards that don't make any damned sense. Do I pass it off as the universe not having an answer for me, or should I pop a nerve looking for subtle intricacies that may not be there? I HATE not knowing WTF a freaking retarded spread is SAYING...

Me: "Umm..."
Querent: "Well? What does it say?!"
Me: "Something about Bob, a can of Spam, and a bucket of sand...?" :wtf:

I agree with everything that has been posted and also the clients that want more than just a general reading. The people who want you to hit the nail on the head with the hammer. Also when people see you some time afterwards and say "YOU SAID" lol (god I hate when that happens)

Nothing at all! Giving Tarot card readings is one of the things I have absolute faith in.

Gads, I know, and then they look at you like, "Well, you're supposed to know what you're doing, can you hurry up and tell me my future?" I feel likeI'm under so much pressure to say something.

Me: "Well, the cards... say... actually, they don't make any sense what-so-ever."
Them: :wtf:

I dread dragging my own crap into a reading I'm doing for someone else. I also dread having someone else read for me, and realize that they are dragging their crap into my reading. This is the number one difficulty of most readers as I see it. They make their interpretation based on what is going on in their life. Complete unbiased interpretation is what is needed, with as little of the readers crap as can be expected from humanbeings.

being biased every time i try a reading about myself.
i can consciously sense when i start going off and being biased, and it's like, 'holy crap stop that!'
like i'll see something bad, and 'maybe it's about someone else. yeah! it's about ____'
argh.

I dread seeing the truth, and knowing it's the truth, and not wanting to accept what I see. That takes a great deal of bravery, which I sometimes don't possess.

just not giving me a vibe or anything! Oh yeah that is something I do not like either. I guess at times that could mean it is not a time to use them..

I'm not sure, I dread anything...
Maybe the wanting of someone to have me read for them, and me picking up strange & wild vibes from them...
Now that I think of it, the times I've had those feelings, something always got in the way of me doing the reading, and i didn't do it.

Or, maybe someone wanting to hear something they want to hear, that isn't there...
*shrugs*

And I do need to get out of the phase of self doubt...

Also, there does seem at times that I can read the cards for someone else and they do answer to my own life, concerning something or the other, I think that's normal though, since our cards are more in tune with us than with the quernt.
I usually just go on with their reading, and do another for myself later, then sometimes, I don't and just mull it over...

Me too! Actually, I specifically bought a deck where the tower card was signified by something else entirely because I can't handle the people falling out of the tower and think of anything but 9-11, it's a total mental block for me and would mean nothing but death and destruction of the masses if I ever turned it up, lol.

I am a little crazy sometimes. :smash:

yup - i hear that - after i've had coffee (like, um, now) there's no way i would be able to sit down and do a reading... even if i want to - the brain is just not there - i'm more like :shaker: and that's just not helpful for deeeeeeep thoughts. :-P

I dreaded getting this card (forgot which one http://mysticwicks.com/images/smilies2/schlafen011.gif ) that I didn't understand the meaning of. I couldn't get it from reading the book or my intuition.

I dread seeing the truth Oh yes I find that to be hard to, especially if you know it is something erally horrible... That is why I think being responible with how you do readings is imoportant.

So Flora how are you going to get out of that self doubt?

I don't believe that the cards can, nor will, say anything about death and destruction, so it is not such things that I dread. I do not know if there is anything I really dread, but it would be mega-embarrassing, to do a reading that was completely off. I have never tried it and I hope I never do

:hehehe: i feel that way a lot. if i read over someone else's shoulder i do much better than reading for myself. i'm good at decifering after someone else has tried to to read, i put the peices together :)

ie: bob is sitting on the beach with lunch....
