just read this...for any of you who follow these traditions..this might be a useful god/goddess duo to call upon for fertility issues:
Asherah is the name of a canaanite fertility goddess.
In Ugaritic mythology she is the consort of El,
but in the Old Testament she is the conosrt of Baal.
The cultic asherah pole is thought to be a wooden stake, stone pillar, or carved idol.
There does not appear to be any direct associtation of sacrifice with the asherah pole per say, but the pole is often near altars where sacrifices to Baal took place.
Some think that the Asherah pole is a phallic symbol
