I've been reading and learning as much as I can about different paths.. and I decided I wanted to try to learn to read the cards. Does anyone have any advice and or possible resources that can help me on my way? If so thank you much!

I've been picking at learning it for a few months now. My favorite book so far is "The Idiot's Guide to Tarot" and is the one that has progressed my learning the most.

How 'bout THIS site? :)
Try the Tarot portal (a part of this forum), lots of good info there!
And then theres http://www.tarotforum.net/
A user there by the username thirteen has written a really nice guide, you can find it here: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/
I think it's only 5$ or something and it definitely helps me to see some things in a different light.

My best advice: Get a journal and write everything down. And I mean EVERYTHING! :D

The Book P. Hollander Tarot for Beginners - is the first book I got when starting out with Tarot.
And as mentioend above you should write a jorunal. Espcially when you are starting out new and with a new deck. Wrtite impressiosn of the cards down and all the details you see.... it is a good exercise tod o.
As for Accletic Taort awesome place to go, maybe see ya over there :D
Also http://www.learntarot.com/ :D Defintly different .

Another really good resource that was recommended to me a long time ago by AuroraSilvermist and that I currently own is Tarot Made Easy by Nancy Garen. You should be able to find it at your local bookstore for around 20ish dollars. ^^

I also used a journal and it was really helpful! There is stuff all over this forum too - I think a whole thread about the meanings attributed to different cards... I have a thing that's 21 pages long about the meanings a few people attributed to each card - I think you really just have to jump in and get into it! If you like it, you'll keep shuffling and looking at the cards (and shuffling and looking...) and it will all just come together well - at least I think! I've only been doing this for a few months too. :tongueout

Try out some of the discussions in the Portal on the major arcana. :) They did it a while back when I was first learning and really helped me.

I would recommend the Rider-Waite or a clone, such as the Universal Rider-Waite, Radiant Rider-Waite or Robin Wood deck. I also recommend you purchase the book, "78 Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack." Shuffle your cards, then draw one card off of the top for each day. Read the interpretations found in the book, then write the meanings down in your own words. Once you start reading the cards, journal your spreads as well. It won't be long before the cards, as well as your interpretations of them, will take on a life of their own.
