View Full Version : Is it Possible to HEX a Hurricane?

This may sound a bit facetious...
Is there anyway to Hex a Hurricane away? I live in the Central Florida area and recently went through a week of hell dealing with Hurricane Charley. Now there's another brewing out in the Atlantic called Hurricane Frances, and it appears to be heading our way by Friday or Saturday of this week. :lookaroun
I don't think I can deal with another one. Charley was certainly a frightening experience with the high winds, tornadoes, and damaged trees. I was home alone for 2 hours by myself (and the 3 cats) while Charley went right over us. The eye of the Hurricane went right over Orlando, and in the little town I reside in. If I go through another one I swear I'll go crazy.... :twitch:
If it does hit Florida again, I'd like to :excuseme: If you get what I'm saying...
The whole HEX thing I'm trying to humor myself with, just so it doesn't scare me so much. I told my friend (who knows I'm into Wicca) that I would HEX it away! He laughed!! Though he's taking it very seriously already, and bought a load of food in case we lose power again. Some folks here in FL still don't have any... :(

I'd love to! Of course by the time it reaches you it will proably be a tropical storm. Especially if it's already crossed over land. Those aren't that bad or scary.
Someone on the internet mentioned a Hurricane spell. I think it's some kind of protection spell if a person and/or area gets hit by a Hurricane. Does anyone here have one?
Of course I can always come up with my own...
The weather forcasters here aren't saying much. Their crystal balls have been wrong before. :crystalba There's like a 200-300 mile margin of error. Any slight wobble to a Hurricane and suddenly it can be in your backyard.

The natural forces at work directing a hurricane's path and strength are colossal (there's a big, stubborn high pressure ridge in the western Atlantic that I doubt magic is going to budge). Forcing it away from you seems unlikely. Perhaps look into efforts for personal/household protection instead?

In my post I was being mostly a smart aleck! Yes, it would take one powerful spell to send something like that away, and even then it probably wouldn't happen... I'm already preparing my house as we speak.

You could, of course, always consider invoking a higher power.

I could talk to my little brother... He called Hurricane Floyd up here a few years back. ;) *giggles*

No problem. :)
I'm a strange one anyway, so don't mind my sense of humor. :spaceman:

And who/what would that be?
:fpipesmok Perhaps Gandolf the Gray/White Wizard??
I'm just being funny.

No but if you look into cultures of some areas where such things as tropical storms, tornados, monsoons and the like are common perhaps there are protection spells that would help keep you and yours safe, or at least lessen the damage, because you'd have to be a pretty powerful magician with tons of help from plenty of other pretty powerful magicians to be able to turn that howling, natural fury in a different direction.

I would do a protection spell, and I would also try to send counter rotation into the storm...maybe to help it unwind a little so it's not quite so strong...however, storms are chaotic creatures, and they have to live out their short lives and fulfill whatever purpose they have...but you can try to calm them a bit...
