Found you! :uhhuhuh:

Quite by accident, I saw mention of this marvelous place on a smaller board. OH wowsers! I knew "we" (meaning all of us pagan-type folks) had to be congregating somewhere or another on the net...just didn't know where....'til now!

I feel like I've come home. *sigh*

About me....

Well.....I'm a newbie, to this board and witchcraft both. I've always had a pagan outlook......which made for a REALLY grumpy-confused-disastisfied-miserable Christian, let me tell ya!.....but, finally embraced my pagan-ness only recently. I studied just about everything under the sun at one point or another...even came close to converting to Judaism. Nope, nothing fit.

I look back amazed at how difficult I made things for myself. Anywho! It only took sitting down and listening to myself with complete honesty. Voila! That old list I made myself do, outlining what I believe...was pure pagan.

That's a bit simplistic, but in a nutshell...there you have it. I don't regret the journey, not one bit. I've learned so much taking the path I did getting here.

And, here I am! (crazy grin!!)

I'm a happily married 35 year old housewife, with 2 munchkins who we homeschool. Any other pagan homeschoolers out here? Just curious!

I'm an avid (rabid might be a better descriptive) gardener who is in the process of converting her entire lawn into cottage gardens. Or rather I should say....I'm going to try. The hubster has staked his claim on the N. half of the yard. We'll see about that!! LOL I've been interested in herbs/herbalism since my mid-teens and am having the time of my life finally being able to apply some of what I've read/studied over the years. I've also discovered how very little I actually do know (and remember!! ACK!). That's ok, I crave information....devour books...I don't think a person should ever stop learning. If I could, I'd probably live in my gardens ...we've got a medicine wheel, numerous herb beds, prayer gardens.... it is a place of refuge when things get too hectic (see below). Like no other place, I feel completely at peace and at home in nature & in my gardens.

I also carve, have been working with wood for about 4-5 years now. Before we moved to our small rural town, the emergency rooms got to know me well. Wood is a medium that speaks to me as no other...and the challenge.... I love it. There is nothing quite like working with wood and bringing out what's hidden within.

I have (and the family has) hobbies and interests too numerous to list (and it would probably make for some boring reading too!!! hehe)...we're pretty busy.

AND last but, most certainly not least.... I am new to wicca/witchcraft. I've only been studying for around 3 months now, and I'm devouring anything and everything I can get my hands on. We've (the hubby & I) been fortunate enough to have met a dear couple who have taken us under their wings re: studies and all. I am so greatful for them and their friendship!

It's too early to say with any certainty what path I'll follow...I am leaning towards the eclectic side (I can blame this on all my studies into various & unsundry topics through the years - wink/grin) .....hedge witchery definitely holds an appeal.

Weeeeeeeell, I think that's about it! Got room for another newbie? I'm real tickled to be here and hope that I can be a worthy addition to your great community.

Blessings!

Iora

Hello and welcome!

Sounds like you'll fit right in around here.

I think there are some threads on pagan homeschooling in the 'Family and Parenting' forum - if you do a search, something should come up.

Thank you for such a warm welcome ((((everyone))). :)

I'll make sure I check out the parenting area too (I think I missed that one). I'm simply amazed at how MUCH information/conversations are contained in this community. (And here I thought the regular newz board I hang at was big!!)

Nice to know there are other homeschoolers too!

Moonstoned...thank you! I'll do that once things get calmed down 'round our "castle." Chaos....just chaos lately, I tell ya! ;)

*Happy sigh*....feels like home.

Group hug! :D

Hello and Welcome!

You sound like a delightfully interesting person indeed. Gardening .. *sighs* .. something I wish I could do but can't seem to manage it where we are, beyond the basics at least. A few flowers, a hydrangea bush. My river birch has lived through two horrendous summers too, thankfully. :)

I'm another that has so many interests it's impossible to list them. I love to do things, though .. rather true to my feline persona, I tend to get distracted rather easily, so projects I undertake can't be lengthy.

Glad to have you here, and I look forward to getting to know you better!

Thanks everyone so much!!! I've been having computer problems over the last couple of days.....ARGHHH! I'll get on here...and then whammy! Everything locks up. Think I've finally got the bugs cleared up. (fingers/toes crossed)

(((( tygherrayn )))) Thank you. :) ....and I understand the attention span thing. Yep! -Have dozens of projects around here in various stages of completion. I'll get burnt out on one thing...so glide on over to the next.

Drives the hubby nuts. :halohead: I have dozens of carvings around here I need to finish. Or cross-stitch(blush) or sculptures....or...

Don't know what it is though...gardening...never get sick of it. Or reading. Or reading in the garden....OR....

Wish I could grow hydrangea...no luck with it, hates me.

VroomBroom....that is adorable!

Thank you all...I feel right at home here.
